Marcus Smart pushes fan..
Did anyone see this happen? In a game against Texas Tech Marcus smart pushed a fan on the baseline. He reportedly pushed the fan after he was called derogatory term. Obviously Smart shouldn't have pushed him, but the fan was of course wrong as well. The can is known for berating opposing team players. What should the penalty be for Smart and the fan?

If what that guy said was related to racism in any way then he should be banned from all games for at least 1 season. Smart would probably get suspended and a bad rep.

From what Smart said it was very racist. I don't want to post it here. John Lucas said that same guy said crazy things when he was in school. That's was a long ago. Smart I bet will be suspended for a hand full of games. The fan should also be banned for at least the rest of this season and next.

I've heard a lot about what was said. It's a shame this kind of behaviour still exists in this day and age. It happened recently in our football code in Australia too where a young girl in the crowd racially abused an indigenous player. That girl was pointed out by the player and removed by stadium security. It's all about educating.

I feel like everyone raised in a 1st world country should know that racism and things of its kinda are not right nor tolerated. It isn't 1927 anymore!!!

Oklahoma State star Marcus Smart has been suspended for three games for shoving a Texas Tech fan in the final seconds of Saturday's game, Cowboys coach Travis Ford announced Sunday.
Orr, an air traffic controller in Waco, Texas, travels thousands of miles each year to attend Texas Tech basketball games, according to athletic department spokesman Blayne Beal.
Smart claimed to Oklahoma State coaches that Orr called him a racial slur, a member of the basketball program confirmed to ESPN.
Texas Tech conducted its own investigation of the altercation that said no racial slur was heard. In a statement released through the school, Orr denied using a slur and said he was sorry for calling Smart "piece of crap."
"I would like to take this opportunity to offer my sincere apologies to Marcus Smart, Oklahoma State, Tubby Smith and the Texas Tech Men's Basketball program," Orr said in a statement. "My actions last night were inappropriate and do not reflect myself or Texas Tech -- a university I love dearly. I regret calling Mr. Smart a 'piece of crap' but I want to make it known that I did not use a racial slur of any kind. Additionally, I would like to offer my apologies to Texas Tech fans that have been embarrassed by the attention this incident has created."

In the clip it doesn't appear that Orr said anything more then calling him " a piece of crap". If Smart is lying about this that's pretty low.

So if that's all Orr said then Smart just let his emotions get the best of him. Something he'd want to work on if he wants to be in the NBA. I've heard players been called much worse (with the absence of racism).

I have read elsewhere that some people think this will affect his draft stock. I don't see that happening. He has talent and that's something that won't allow him to drop out of the top ten picks. Maybe he could fit in next to Oladipo. They could go with Oladipo, Smart, Afflalo, Harris and Vucevic. That would be a fun five to watch.

If he stays incident-free from now on his draft stock should be okay. If the Magic were to draft Smart, I don't think Afflalo would be there. In that case, would a Harkless and Harris starting lineup work? I personally like Harris at the 3.
