Patch Help Fake?
Hi.
I got this card long time ago from a fellow collector in Sweden and when i watched it the other day i noticed som kind of bending or mark on the patchwindow.
The patchwindows edges shows no marks its that bending that bothers me.
The trader is a honest person i trust 110% he got it in another trade from another swedish collector but cant remember who.
If you look at the upper right you can see what i mean.
I think its legit and probably from when they made it as sometimes thick patches tend to do that.
Have had cards pulled from packs looking like that but i know there are very skilled ppl here that maybe can advise.
I have seen 1 or 2 on ebay with nasty patches like this.
Any opinions are welcome.

I have seen about 15 patch cards where the patch is far too fat for the window and I don't even collect Game-Used cards. The corners always seem to wrinkle or crease when the patch is too thick for the opening.

That patch is fake, the damage around it is the first clue, the giveaway is just up and to the left of the 3 on the serial #. Look how part of the grey line is seperated that's where they pushed on it to get it in, also the gold foil there is raised. Take a close look at the rest of the gold foil, i bet you see other spots where it has been disturbed and i'm not talking about the corners of it.

I see your point looked clooser but it doesnt appear to be any other damage on the gold foil and where its raised its still intact.
And the strange thing is i have never ever heard about a patchfaker in sweden but i can be wrong.
Ill wait some other opinions to but much appreciated.

I don't believe that patch is fake, Scheifele had a ton of nice horizontal RPA's in Dominion, and there are also far superior Jets patches then this one. If they were to fake it, why not use one of the shoulder crests?

I agree with this. Also on the odd occasion foil will crease or tear during the manufacturing process. I would imagine this is one of those times.

Why use Scheiflele? Small market player, no upside in terms of making money through forgery. Time taken to re-produce one fugazy is simply not worth the effort.

Because Scheifele was a top 5-6 Rookie in 11-12. He was one of the better Rookies to hit......
I also don't think the patch is fake as I have seen multiple sweet looking Scheifele RPA from dominion.Flickr: Hidden Content
