13/14 YG Rainbow

I know this is collector's preference and there is no set rules for rainbows but I would like opinions.

I want to complete the Morgan Rielly YG Rainbow.

With the release of UD Series 2 it looks like there is a surprise acetate version of the YGs and also the POE Canvas.

I have the YG, YG Exclusives, and YG HG. Now with Series 2 to complete the rainbow I need to add the Canvas YG, and the Acetate version, but is it also necessary to add the POE Canvas to complete the rainbow?

I mean.... you've already said what I really think: Collect what you like :)

Saying that, IMO - the term 'Rainbow' refers to getting each version of a card. Maybe there is 3 versions, maybe 18, or somewhere in between :)

Canvas, cool looking cards, but they're boarderline 'parallels' at best. They don't have the same numbering, not everyone in the set gets one. That Reiley will have two of them - I mean, if I were you I'd probably want them... but how much of a parallel of the Series 1 card are they really? I don't know how to answer that.


And what's the deal with the acetate Young Gungs? First I've heard of that.

Very true that the Canvas may not be true parallels, but I have a hard time thinking that a YG rainbow wouldn't include it. Also the POE isn't even a YG so probably not really part of it.

Those Acetates are beautiful!!! well done UD on that parallel instead of continuing to make clear cut inserts that have diminished to 5-10$ a card for a case hit lol.

To the OP mr Jay, id say the POE as well. That way there is no debate and u can put it to bed :) (check out my show and tell thread i just posted as well ;). Timmy straightened up easily once i had it in hand

Yes those Acetate YGs are stunning! Is there any info on a print run?

Not that I can see, seems they kept them pretty secretive until now, i never even heard of them until this thread

I wouldn't consider the POE as part of the rainbow as it isn't a YG.

Is there a checklist anywhere of the YG acetates? I can't find one and am wondering if all the YG's got one or just a handful.
