Should have waited for ITG Used. I think that will be successful right away, and then taper off like most other new products. I have heard nothing good about Totally Certified.

Yeah bad choice on totally certified. If your trying to get the most money back then your in for a surprise. Crown Is a much better option and the product is hot right now.

I definitely would never buy a Panini product to sell and make money from, especially now that they wont be making hockey cards anymore because they don't have the liscense after this year.

As someone said already, getting to a product when it is newly released will most often yield the highest sales price on the secondary market. Or you could look at products that aren't new and have dropped in price but still have a strong market.

I would go for an ITG product because they produce some stuff that is highly sought after because no one else makes cards like them. I have found ITG to bring me the most money while still keeping some cards in my PC.

ITG Stickwork (newly released, amazing cards can be pulled which will sell for a ton)
ITG-Used (not yet released)
ITG Lord Stanley's Mug (not yet released)
ITG Decades of the 90s (reduced price)

I have pulled single cards from ITG Captain C, ITG Motown Madness, ITG Decades 90s that have sold for $120-$400 and that is easily more than the price of 1 box, and sometimes the cost of 4 boxes.

I have also pulled a couple cards early and was the first one to sell one on eBay and they sold for about 8x what they sell for now. It helps being the first one to sell a card most often.

Just a few examples, don't need to hit a Mac, loads of low # rc's and stars you can hit, I got a Trouba Mirror Blue/10
that looks amazing, I prefer these to the Silhouettes...but to each there own, it is a hobby, buy a box of gold if you want to
make an investment, as each new product of the month comes out, the value of the previous one goes down the tubes for the most part.

Their products for the remainder of this season are going to be LOADED.

Simply put they have to blow out everything they've got for hockey.

Contenders is going to have 7 autograph cards per box.
Prime is going to have even more ridiculous memorabilia because they have to get all the pieces out of inventory.
National Treasures is going to be crazy town.

It's going to be bonkers for them for their remaining products.

Will that translate into collectors willing to pay higher prices? Remains to be seen.

I hit a trouba auto/rc/tag #2/5

also ina group break and had a mackinnon tag /5 pulled and also a d mackinnon auto pulled out.

it is hit or miss with any product
I am not in it for the $$$$$ so a case break would be great for me no matter what I chose

It is a odd HOBBY...sometimes I think I am the only guy who likes Select, some Canvas YG's sell for more than a #d/AU/JS/ RC of the same player...but once a product has established its Status in the Hobby, it pretty much sticks for good. Take Panini Calder Contender's ON card RC/AU's/800, it is a great product with more hits, but the value compared to SPA FWA/999 is half or more. That is why I am not happy Panini is going out, if you wanted a Scheifele # au but couldn't afford the $40 for a SPa you could still buy a Contenders for $20. It is simply nice to have options and more choices of different designs that suit ones taste/budget etc....
Anyway I know about trying to turn a hobby into a business, restoring classic cars, it became a JOB like any other Real fast! I suppose a few very shrew people can make a profit off this hobby, but I am too emotionally attached to the sport/and the cards to make logical decisions.

I never thought of it like that, RGM81. You have a point in people landing more good cards, whether that will translate into more money or not no one knows. Huge hits will always be worth a pretty penny.

I have been sticking to ITG products lately as I think you get the highest return on the secondary market. Maybe thats just me.

i like itg,always did good on box buys,but according to my wife,i'm a little impatient.so i went with totally certified&i think i did pretty well.check out my case break thread.with all the rookies&everything i got almost 100 hits.

ITG Stickwork if you can get it at the original launch price. If not, wait for 13/14 Cup.
Avoid Panini as resale is no good generally speaking. One exception: If you can hunt down a 3-box case of 11-12 Dominion, they're solid.

Again generally speaking, this is a hobby and should be viewed as such... you're not going to really turn a profit off anything unless you get insanely lucky.
