    Melo for Kobe ?????

    Just reading this.
Why would LA want Melo when he will leave, I don't believe he will do a sign and trade to a team that might get 35 wins next year.
If Phil pulls this off, I will be shocked.
Is Melo playing for money or a ring ?
enjoy your free agency Melo, don't waste it in LA, sign with Miami, lol, only joking.

If he's playing for money, I think his best bet is to stay in NY.

How much longer does Kobe think he can play?

I personally think Kobe is finished as a star, he would only be playing a role, and he wont do that.

I agree and that's why I don't think he'd go to the Knicks. Why be a role player on a team that will take years to rebuild?

pwaldo, your right, so what does Kobe and or the Lakers do ?
A player chewing up $23.5 m this year.
If they keep him, you have a guy that no one has their hand up to play with, apart from aging stars, guys that know what winning is about and are happy to do just their job. BUT, the Lakers dont need more aging stars, they need a young stud. And a young stud that's happy to take a back seat.
It just doesn't add up, look for LA to lose another 45 games this year.
BUT, lets give LA max credit and say the sign Melo, LBJ and one other stud. With nothing else on their roster, they still dont win it all.

Kobe can either retire and take Stephen A. Smith's job at ESPN, so we can be rid of that Cosell wannabe for good, or just swallow his pride, shrink his ego, and move on. I think he'd be a better fit in Brooklyn, myself. Can't see him going to the Knicks, not as long as Dopey Dolan remains in charge.

Matter of fact, here's a thought. Maybe Kobe & Phil Jackson can put their money together to buy the Knicks away from Dopey Dolan. How about that?
