I like the hits Panini is pouring into the rest of their products.
Unfortunately I see tons of damaged corners and edges. The Sean Monahan card has damage everywhere. Not paying money to pull damaged cards from a company that apparently doesn't care anymore. I will chase some Red Wings on the secondary market though.Master List: Hidden Content

If you don't like Panini that is fine but to just come on to slam them is another thing. If you don't like their products fine, shut your cake hole and go back to Upperdeck. These people from Panini have gone out of their way to bring new and exciting products to us unlike Upperdeck.

I must be getting old, because I don't even see any damage on the Monahan - or on anything else, for that matter. Black-bordered cards always have a few issues, which is why perfect ones are even more greatly valued. The stickers are straight and the hard-signed cards aren't smeared or blotchy. All the cards look good. Solid checklist and it looks like Panini has tried to add value with more hits - an indication that they absolutely DO care, IMHO.

qwas I don't buy boxes of Upper Deck much either and I think I have purchased more Panini than Upper Deck since 11-12 season. I just chase singles of Red Wings mostly and haven't collected a set of Upper Deck or Panini since 11-12. Rookie Anthology I believe is one of their better products in terms of hits I have pulled. Judging by the quality I see in these 'QC' pictures my comments were justified. The Olli Maatta looks even worse now that I look at it again. I realize some cards can have more issues than others but I have easily seen Black-Border cards even from Panini be absolutely flawless in all the cards I've seen.
If chasing 10 out of 100 cards that are flawless and still making the other 90 cards is fine with the hobby then by all means keep making them.
There are more hits in the boxes not just to add more value but because they lost their license and have stickers and memorabilia to use up. Hence their redemption program at the expo.

Ya I was a little harsh I think. Just got off the graveyard shift and was a bit tired. Sorry.

Cunnuc, I'm not trying to be difficult here, but are we looking at the same pics? The Maatta looks pretty near perfect to me - maybe the slightest color touch on the LRC - straight edges, etc. What exactly is the damage?

I don't see anything wrong with the Monohan or Maatta
