They are cards that weren't inserted into the original product because players didn't return their autographs on time for the original release. As has been the case with recent UD releases, these will be extra hits rather than taking up one of the guaranteed hits.

Another FAIL by Upper Deck! 25% of the base cards don't even play in the NHL any more. Everybody needs TWO different Hasek commons, right? No need to have cards of good players that are actually on NHL teams.
But there are some cards people will actually want. Of course, they are 1 of 5, so you'll never find one.
Does UD really think there are a bunch of die-hard Theo Fluery fans out there looking to add to their autograph collections? Why does EVERY UD set have to include Gretzky, Lemieux, Orr, and 20 other retired stars? Why cant you make a set of JUST current players???

But look at the bright side. By going back to a stupid UD monopoly next year, the NHL is saving me a lot of money. Wont have to collect much next year. The NHL is all about growing their business, and everyone knows a MONOPOLY is the best way to do that, right? I wish Bettman's kid would teach him something about high school economics...Last edited by Sharky94; 06-17-2014 at 07:46 PM.

That's what I thought.
Might as well be a buyback. Old cards from old sets.
UD is already getting lazy.

So Upper Deck is lazy because the players can't return the cards on time?
I guess once those cards were returned, they should have been thrown in the dumpster, right?

What do you suggest they do with all those cards that they paid the players to sign?
I get that Upper Deck is clearly not your cup of tea, but this act is getting very tiresome.
