    Gorges on the Trade Block

    http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=456076

Looks like the Leafs want Gorges. Also, looks like the Habs want to make some room by moving him.
What do you think is going to happen?

Gorges has a limited no trade clause. He gave Montreal a list of teams he would accept a trade to. No Canadian team made the list. He wants to go to an American team.

The latest has it that he has expanded his list to include 2 Canadian teams. If I had to venture a guess, I would say Vancouver and I don't care about the other.

Appearently Shanny has made a personal call in to him now. Last I heard is he has refused 2 times and the Leafs are still interested.

It must be a tasty trade if Montreal and Toronto are still pushing...

This has got to be pretty hard for Gorges. He never saw something like this coming. He is expecting a child within a week. However, if he does not accept the trade, sounds like he might be placed on waivers and then he could end up almost anywhere.

Thanks all - I was actually wearing my Gorges Habs shirt yesterday for Canada Day - I'd thought the whole thing would blow over. It did not. LOL
