I agree with most of what you said but let me add this. When it is the other way around it is not a news story so I don't know exactly what you want me to say.

All that means is you only care what the media prints. That's not something I would brag about, myself.

I will also point out that when a civilian injures or kills an officer it does tend to make the news. Here anyway, where everything isn't brought back to A vs B

Sure it's on the news but a lot of the time its more to the story than what the media puts out there. For example look at the case of Terrance Johnson in Maryland in 1978. He was only 15 years old arrested by prince georges county cops was getting the hell beat out of him and in self defense he grab one of the cops guns and killed them both. However the media painted him as a cop killer and he was already guilty before trial. The average joe is not going to kill a cop let alone anyone else unless they fear for their life. Also with karma being a you know what what's the say that the cop dosen't have a couple of bodies on his resume and he is only getting a taste of his own medicine.

1: I think you're showing that your problem isn't with cops, but the media portrayal thereof. Taking out your anger at the media on the cops themselves isn't right.

2: Who's to say he doesn't? Who's to say he does? You can't say either way without being a prejudicial jerk. Why speculate on that? It's pointless.

3: Everything you say is true. Cops abuse their power. Cops injure and kill civilians doing it. Cops, too often, get away with a slap on the wrist, transfer, and paid vacation. These are huge problems, but warring with the average cop is not going to do anything. They aren't the problem, they're the symptom. The problem is at the top. The problem is in management, recruitment, training. You're cutting off you leg without knowing why it hurts.

Good points but it also comes from so called good cops who refuse to snitch on the bad ones because of the blue wall of silence. I'm sorry but I hold cops, the military and the rest of the gov't to a higher standard than I do street criminals.

So do I, but at the end of the day you are for cops snitching on each other, and also for criminals not snitching on each other ("stop snitchin"). Either you're in favour of everyone reporting everything, or no one reporting anything. You have to pick.

Criminals (except for congress) are not financied by my tax dollars so I couldn't care less if they snitch on each other. Again cops and other gov't officials should be held to a higher standard.

So your tax dollars in ATlanta do not go to your penal system? Wow I might have to move there.
