2014-15 Upper Deck Trilogy Video Preview
Will try to grab screencaps at some point soon for the standard preview & layout.
Here's some more info, courtesy of Cardboard Connection: http://www.cardboardconnection.com/2...y-hockey-cards
Rookie cards have three levels, all of which are numbered. The most plentiful are basic cards numbered to 799. Level 2 are autographed and numbered to 399. Level 3 rookies have an inscription accompanying a signature and are numbered to 49. Boxes have one autographed rookie. Collectors should also find at least a couple of numbered rookie cards as well.
Outside of the rookies, 2014-15 Upper Deck Trilogy Hockey has three additional autograph inserts. Signature Pucks use a puck-like surface for the signing area. Cards come with team logos, retro logos and the NHL Shield. Ice Scripts are also back.
Tryptich Signatures are part of a new insert set. Players have three different cards that can go together to make for a bigger display piece. Autographs are one level. The other two use memorabilia swatches.
Crystal inserts return at a rate of one per hobby box. Made with plexiglass, they're another distinct element in Trilogy. Crystal Premieres center on rookies while basic Crystal cards have veterans.
The 2014-15 Upper Deck Trilogy base set has 100 cards. Each has three parallels: Rainbow Blue (numbered to a player's career stat), Rainbow Red (numbered to a 2013-14 stat) and Rainbow Black (#/3).

Same as last year with a slight change as always. I preferred Trilogy from years ago 08-09 in particular when rookie autos were not involved.

I had hoped that the ridiculous amount of rookie autos was just a "Dual RC class" thing, but it looks like it's here to stay.

Of course. Rookies sign for way less than stars do. What I wish would happen is that UD recognize better the rookies that may become good later, so that some of the meh rookie autos appreciate nicely. It's always a cool feeling to revisit your junk pile and discover a RC or auto that is now rather desirable.

Not necessarily though. If you look at all the products Panini had all of them had autos and lots of them. UD will be releasing Ultra, OPC, Series 1 & 2, MVP which have no rookie autos. Black Diamond only has rookie autos /25. Artifacts only has rookie autos /99 which are redemptions and the live ones are very limited /5.
If you compare that to what Panini had out as there before January release you find a huge reduction of Rookie Autos and Autos in general. Prizm and Score both had Rookie autos. Select and Certified had parallel autos galore. Knowing UD and the way they are starting the 14-15 season previews off there will not be much change from 09-10. You will see products like OPC Premier, Ud Black, Odd end product like Champs/Retro. 05/06 - 09-10 Rookie Autos weren't plentiful like they are now.
Just stating facts not a UD supporter/Panini Hater, I don't see any reason to believe there will be much change from UD form before. I fully expect the Rookie Auto numbers to decline by a lot because of all the parallels that will no longer exist.

It seems like alot FEWER hits than last years version, didn't it have a 1 mem, 1 auto and 1 insert per 3 pack Inner box?
If I am reading this correct, this years only has 4 auto/mem cards in the entire box.

I wasn't just talking about trilogy and my comment had nothing to do trilogy. I was responding to your comment when you said that it doesn't look like RC Autos will be reduced in numbers.
In reality if you compare this product to last years it actually increases by 100. Last year it was /699, /399, /49 this year its /799, /399, /49. Maybe that's what you were getting at lol.

You are correct. Last year it was 8 hits a box. This year its 4 so its cut in half. I think the price last year was well over $200 something like $249 or $279 somewhere around there. This year its $121.
