I'm worried about that Mike Brown autofacts being another issue with the wrong signature. In this year's MVP set the Mike Brown autograph was released with stickers of the wrong Mike Brown, a Bruins goalie who never played in the NHL.

I was going to comment on that aswel..... not that I'm particularly worried about it, but gaurenteed this is what happened:
UD Guy #1: Which players do we have extra stickers of, that we can dump into early season products?
UD Guy #2: Mike Brown
From there they made checklists.

Anyone with opinions on good teams in this product? DET look pretty well represented but at $70 a case break?
Thoughts on teams that are a bargain price wise?
As per usual (not sure why) but this is one of my favourite releases of the year. Probably something to do with design (god knows it's not the 1 real "hit" per box for $100).Last edited by Chev-boyar-sky; 10-08-2014 at 02:04 PM.

Haven't seen a full team-by-team breakdown but I know this much: avoid Minnesota at all costs. They have ONE card in this set plus their rookie redemption.
Habs fan and collector! Current PC's: Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, and Lane Hutson...., and of course...

I noticed that as well, and I was all set to buy some Artifacts this season, until I saw the checklist. And as a MN Wild fan, that's like 24-grit sandpaper being rubbed on the swimsuit area.
Cody Eakin gets TWO base cards, but ZERO Wild players??? EPIC FAIL, Upper Deck.

Opened a box and 4 packs. Not impressed. Liked last years design better. Didn't help that the box was terrible with a J.T. Brown Autofacts, a base jersey variation Turgeon /125, a Seguin frozen treasures and a dual of Chiasson and someone else. Horrible.
Packs were better with a Panik Autofacts and a Pacioretty Emerald Jersey and Patch /75 but all of that for $175 wasn't exactly the easiest pill to swallow.

I'm treading very lightly with Artifacts this year, liked last year's a lot better. Group breaks I would be going EDM (Gretzky auto), NYR, LAK and Flyers if priced right, MTL then EDM/COL/CHI and LAK if you random a high pick in a draft. Tampa and Washington for middle picks.
Not sure what the deal is with Minnesota - brutal!

I thought DET and TOR looked good too.....
On Breakaway TOR and PHI are priced the same @ $65 which I think is probably a little high but with super weak teams other teams have to pick up some slack. DET started at $75 and are now at $70. Still luck of the case but I went with TOR in 2 cases and CGY killed the first case..
I didn't make out too bad with Bozak and McLaren autofacts, Belfour Emerald /99 and regular goalie parallel, a Shack Base Jersey /125 and a couple McKegg rookies /999 but nothing huge.
Last years Artifacts had a higher end feel and better rookies IMO.Last edited by Chev-boyar-sky; 10-09-2014 at 02:53 PM.

Every product had better rookies last year. The joy of having two season's worth of rookies available.
This is the serious drawback to doing releases like this before the season starts - it exceptionally limits the LIVE rookie content available.

True, but that should only be an issue if you're depending on Rookies to drive your sales.
I realize that new an sparkly is what everyone wants, so of course Rookies will drive sales (to some degree) but I don't think there's much of an issue with Artifacts and the Rookie Checklist at all (nor the timing).
It's a nice product, despite the rookies. It would probably be even better if they trimmed the RC checklist even more, and focused even more on veteran / retired talent.
