More Liberal Propganda To Generate Division? GOP Letter To Iran
I actually saw this on Instagram 2 days ago and waited to see if mainstream media would pick it up or even just put a minor mention of it deep on their websites. They haven't.
Much hubbub has been made over the letter that 47 GOP Senators sent to Iran. Let's look at some of the comments made by liberal media...
According to the Washington Post, “47 Republican senators sent a letter to leaders in Tehran saying that any agreement reached between Obama and Iran without the approval of Congress could be revoked by the next president.”
Michael Reagan wrote in last Thursday’s Newsmax.com: “Those 47 Republican senators didn’t need to send a public letter to Tehran to remind the Iranians how America’s separation of powers works.”
Even our resident Obama apologist jumped on the propaganda bandwagon..
[QUOTE]
Turns out this is jus more yap and propaganda by the liberal left and their mouthpiece, the media.
No letter as ever sent to Iran. The "letter" was simply a digital creation that was posted on Cotton's website. Nothing was ever sent. It seems that Democrats got pretty doggone upset over a simple expression of freedom of speech. So much for the drama...

Huh? This "digital image", was it addressed to anyone in particular? Who cares about the method of delivery?

To be honest I have not read it. I assume it was addressed in some manner to the Iranian leadership. Point being A) it wasn't "sent" to Iran as has been repeatedly parroted by liberal media, and B) had the media not made such a big deal about it then 99.9% of America and 100% or Iran knows nothing about it.

So your argument is that because it was not physically sent to Iran that, in essence there was no harm, no foul? Is that correct?
Sounds like you are getting tied up in the semantics of it all.

You haven't even read the one page letter? Are you serious? I guess, since it says who it was addressed to in the second sentence of the link you provided, it's pretty safe to assume that you didn't read what you linked to either, short of copying a couple paragraphs that really drive home your "point", whatever that may be.
If the media hadn't made a big deal out of a letter addressed to the leaders of Iran thus leaving the target of the letter completely unaware of it's existence, then what would the point of the "Cotton Club's" (LOL at Cotton Club) grandstanding have been?
It's also pretty fascinating how on one hand, according to you, the Democrats are all in a tizzy about a simple First Amendment issue and then, on the other hand, you think the press should just shut up.

My argument is that an actual letter actually sent to Iran would be much more of an issue than just a post on a blog and had Democrats not gotten their panties so twisted up about it then it wouldn't have even been information that Iran was privy to.

habs asked who the letter is addressed to. I haven't read it, so I don't know if it is a general addressing to the nation of Iran or if it specifically is addressed to certain people. My guess is neither do you.
And here is where you fail. I never said the press should shut up. The press should A) be honest, B) stop propagandizing everything, and C) be unbiased. It is none of those.

You can't possibly believe this? You think Iran doesn't have operatives monitoring the internet? You think Cotton is stupid enough to post a "blog" with no expectation that Iran will see it. (the people he was addressing in the letter)?
WOW!! That's some real spin there.

I don't think that something posted on a junior senators blog would have been very high on their espionage list. Perhaps they would have seen it, but not minutes after it was posted and most likely they would have laughed it off had not our president and Democratic leaders made such a big deal of it.

It was titled
"an open letter to the leaders of the Islamic Republic of Iran,"
Quote from letter
"will consider any agreement regarding your nuclear-weapons program that is not approved by the Congress as nothing more than an executive agreement between President Obama and Ayatollah Khamenei. The next president could revoke such an executive agreement with the stroke of a pen and future Congresses could modify the terms of the agreement at any time"
The bigger issue here is that it was signed by 47 United States Senators and released on a very popular and followed site. It would be like 47 Senators showing up on Bill O'Reilly and doing the same thing - and you are asking the media not to report this. I would say that 47 Senators signing anything is newsworthy - 47 Senators signing a petition aimed at undermining the President in his negotiations with a foreign country is clearly newsworthy. Matter of fact - if the "liberal" media hadn't reported the story, the right would be complaining about how it wasn't reported at all - sounds like a zero sum game at best.
