    UPDATES AND NOTES!!

Note #1 The Police report that was done for this MURDER is laughable....the Officer who shall hence forth be called a SCUMBAG POS by myself said that the suspect was in a scuffle with him and the suspect took the stun gun from him and he feared for his life....Yeah, I'm sure this guy is the FIRST cop to lie on a report.

    http://www.nytimes.com/2015/04/08/us...eath.html?_r=0

Note #2 What isn't being talked about too much is the blatant planting of evidence that Officer SCUMBAG POS attempted....again, I'm SURE he is the FIRST cop to do such a thing.

And like I said previously....who will people trust? An officer of the law? or a dead "thug"?

Update #1 YUP, you knew it was coming....people have set up a GOFUNDME campaign for Officer SCUMBAG POS....thankfully the site rejected it, HOWEVER, it is LIVE on indiegogo.

    http://thinkprogress.org/justice/201...harged-murder/

OF COURSE this was gonna happen, I'm NOT shocked, nor will I be surprised when he receives a lot of money for his "defense".

Note #3 For those of you that have been talking about a suspect fleeing from the cops, you might want to read what SCOTUS has said about that....from 1985!

    Source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tennessee_v._Garner

With ALL that being said....I URGE the prosecution to ask for the DEATH PENALTY in this case.

We have a police officer executing a man in a horrific matter, lying on an official police report, and planting evidence in order to frame the victim......this is sickening, Justice AND REVENGE must be served!

We're campaigning to show our Support for Officer Michael T. Slager! We believe in all of our LEOs and want to publicly support them! Although he may have made mis-steps in judgement he was protecting the community. Michael is a former Coast Guardsman with two stepchildren and a wife who is expecting a child, served for more than five years with the department without being disciplined. Please help in any way you can. He has served five years with the department without being disciplined.

This was taken from the indiegogo site.

I think life imprisonment for any police office - and certainly for THIS police officer - is significantly more punishment than death could ever be.

This guy is going to be begging for the chair after a couple nights.

His status as a former cop will likely mean he spends his entire term in solitary.

Shooting a fleeing suspect is NOT the correct action unless he poses a threat to a cop or the general public, obviously that wasn't the case in this situation.

I can agree, but I also do not think this solves the issue of fleeing criminals. we should not let any criminal flee, no matter their crime. i agree this should not mean to unload your firearm into them (unless they are a threat) but we need something to stop them. chasing them on foot is crazy for many reasons, we need non lethal alternatives.

But the people cops are supposed to serve is the general public, you aren't serving us if you're killing us left and right without proper provocation.

this case in an example of a bad cop, but this is the minority, most cops are not killing you. and again, why are you fleeing and why should you be able to flee?

also you and others are trying to blame all cops and calling for a protest and people are protesting. the cop has been fired and is in jail and is going to be prosecuted, what else could the mayor and police have done? you are calling to protest against the people who are also after this guy, no cop, nobody in charge has said this guy is innocent.

C'mon big man....tell me who YOU are!!!

Tell me where you work and where you live.

Meet me in person and discuss religion and let's see how it goes...

Yeah, I'm such a COWARD, that I don't hold back my punches, I tell you exactly what I'm thinking and if it wasn't for the rules of this place, I'd use the language that I truly want to use to express myself as well.

So, tell me again do you believe in God?

Oh right, you don't want to comment on that.....

AHEM Alex I am waiting for a response. We can talk about god and all other topics. You know you cannot call someone out then not respond. That again I hate to say it is COWARDLY. SO look me up so we can talk.

@Shrew, we can't afford cameras now?

But our defense bill is the highest in the world....we can't even defend our own citizens in America from corrupt cops?

America continues to be a JOKE!

Your comprehension of government spending is what continues to be a joke. Federal government defense spending has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with local or state police spending on body cameras.

    Well this thread escalated quickly.

I think that these departments just need to budget for cameras. If the biggest town near me (10,000) can afford cameras for the police force I would think most departments could.

I am just guessing here, but I have a feeling that the town you are speaking of invested in the cheap ones that run around $100-$200 a piece. They aren't very reliable and you get what you pay for. The good ones that record hi-def video with quality sound and run about $1000 each. Washington DC is spending $280k just to get 250 of them and that doesn't even count the need for servers with lots of storage space to download and store the videos to at the end of each shift for records keeping or the cost of paying someone to keep the video downloaded off of them.

I think life imprisonment for any police office - and certainly for THIS police officer - is significantly more punishment than death could ever be.

Nah. Since he is a former cop he will get his own special treatment. They have sections in prisons for informants, gang members who left their gang and have been marked for retribution, etc. They also put former cops in these areas to protect them. They get their own individual cell and are never in general population. In essence, even in prison he will get special treatment.

    !

Not that this matters at all and the murderer should be put to death....but the person who took the video said there was a scuffle and both men were on the ground before he started filming.

At least you don't proclaim to present "facts". El Oh El

i think he said that the cop tased him, they wrestled and the video starts as they where getting back to their feet

so by the book the cop might have a case

if someone breaks in to my house and i confront them and they start to run away and i shoot them as they are running away i can be prosecuted for murder/manslaughter
