First off....I want to say....I'm 100% against what this police officer did.Whatever he gets...he deserves.Now...with that being said....2 questions. During training....why aren't the officers trained to fire a warning shot in the air as a pursuit is about to happen?
You know....the old...."Stop or I'll shoot!!!...If the suspect doesn't stop...oh well he called your bluff. Now the pursuit is on.That question was for the police officers.Second question...when confronted by an officer,on foot or by vehicle....WHY OH WHY do they always have to run??? Do these individuals not know its more than likely going to end in a bad way??? I never understood that. I've been pulled over a few times in my life....and not one time, did RUNNING/DRIVING away ever enter my mind.

Never fire a round in the air. It has to land somewhere. Most departments train their officers to only pull their firearms if their life is in eminent danger or being threatened. In some cases they are told to use it at their best judgement or last line of defense.

We were told when I went through firearms training for my workplace, if we have other options available such as OC spray, ASP or night stick then we are to use those non lethal options. We were trained only to pull out firearms if we intended to use them. I've held an armed license for the last 6 years and never once had to pull it out other than to clean it.

Yeah, the way you talk behind your keyboard where there are no repercussions for your actions.

I love how you and AJ now have this "I'm hiding behind my keyboard" mentality.

ALL OF US ARE ANONYMOUS ON HERE!

"Alex" is not even my real legal name.

No one is sharing their personal information with everyone, no one is sharing intricate details of their lives.

Welcome to the internet....this is the way it is....and for the most part I like the fact that we're all anonymous.

If you are over the age of 15 and are still dropping F Bombs you should consider growing up.

    It's not like I can't control it.

I only use it on the internet and jokingly with friends.

Not buying any of the crap that you are spewing about your use of GD.

    Then don't buy it.

For the most part I like to think I'm pretty honest about my feelings on religion and politics around here.

I tell everyone the way I honestly feel on these matters, I don't see the point in making stuff up.

The only thing I DO keep secret is personal information about myself....I remember the first time I said on here that I worked in a financial institution, Ground was hounding me about where I worked, what would he do with that information....he clearly dislikes me.

There's a good reason why MOST people don't share personal information about themselves online....It's NOT a good idea.

You could buy a go pro for cheaper than that...

The problem with the federal government getting involved is the word federal government. A $1000 now costs $2000. (Obummer said he was pledging millions of dollars for 50k cameras last year after the whole Ferguson deal)

I am a school teacher. I know how govt. spending works. It is a joke that I have to buy a box of pencils from an approved supplier for $2.75 when I can go get the exact same box at Walmart for .78 cents.

Surprised that "Alex" hasn't posted the dashcam video that shows the murder victim running from his car that lead to the chase and execution.

Again...nothing to do with the guilt of the officer by why did he run? So stupid.

Exactly. Why run at all? They have your plates. They know who you are. Running solves nothing..

the guy ran (from what I heard) because he owed child support and their was a warrant for his arrest because he has never paid it.
so the guy is breaking the law, must not have a real job (because child support would have found him), refuses to help his child/children, and runs from the police after a struggle.

The cop deserves the death penalty but this does not excuse this guys actions nor the fact the cops hands are tied when someone flees.

People do stupid things when they are panicked. Sure he owed child support which probably would have meant he was going to be detained. I'm not certain that "owing child support" is the same as "never paid it" or "refuses to help his children". At least around here, child support is based on your NOA from the previous year. If you lose that level of income it takes time to get your support adjusted and you fall behind.

The dash cam video itself shows us a couple of things. The cop acted legally and professionally up until the time the victim bolts. This provides us with an explanation of why a struggle occurred. Regardless of what happened in the struggle itself, the cellphone video captures the crime, and nothing prior to that video is relevant to the crime. It is only relevant to creating a framework for the entire incident.

This is how spending works in any large institution.
I work for a very large, global company and am forced to book travel through our corporate site. A room at a Hilton will run me $200 plus the $16 booking fee from corporate travel - where I can go and book it at $150 direct from Hilton. In perfect fashion, my expense management is part of my measurables come review time. Awesome.

OT but this isn't only a government problem is my point.

Dude, you gotta be kidding me....It doesn't matter that he ran...

You can't execute him for running without there being a REAL risk of harm to the officer or someone else.....THERE CLEARLY WASN'T!

I don't care why he ran....an officer can't KILL someone solely based on that, even SCOTUS said so in their decision of 1985.....1985!!!!

    That was 30 years ago!

Give this POS the DEATH PENALTY!
