    Round 1: Washington Capitals vs New York Islanders Discussion Thread

    This Metropolitan Division series could be one of the quieter gems of the first round. Two former #1 overall picks will be squaring off as Ovechkin and Tavares lead their teams into the post-season. Ovechkin won the Maurice Richard Trophy for leading the NHL in goals, and Tavares narrowly missed out on the Art Ross as the overall points leader.

    Tough series to predict. Have to feel good for the isles, been a crappy team for along time, not any more. But I'm afraid Ovi and the caps are gonna be too much for Johnny T and the isles. Capitals in 7.

    Kind of being forced to watch this one as I can't find the Canadiens game in Mississippi, the Caps look flat 3-1 Isles so far and 2 of the 3 goals were pretty soft.

    The Rangers won't be able to hang with the Isles if the pre-All Star team comes back. Once Ovi was shut down, the rest of the team folded.

    Shut down Ovi, play mediocre defense, and you'll win against the Caps. Not enough depth. I got Isles in 6 on this one.
