So, I want to point out a few things...
One only has to look at the Conservatives posts (which is the majority of the posts) to see how they TRULY see America....they're not thrilled, but of course when a Liberal such as myself points out the very BLARING bad things with America such as it's military worship and over-bloated budget, our decline in education, our decline in infrastructure (ironically BOTH could be helped many times over if it wasn't for our insane military)....I get called various things, including telling me to LEAVE America since I apparently dislike it so much.
Yeah, I dislike America SO much, that I openly criticize it for not trying to better itself and for doing dumb things....cuz everyone knows that people that truly hate America are actually wanting it to become better, not worse.
But yet, we see the true colors of conservatives....they ALSO don't like America....at least not the way it is with a democratic president that even with my overzealous OP, the economy is INDEED better today than it has been in many years, especially after the "Great Recession"....but no way in hell would they ever admit to that.
In fact the U.S economy is 10X worse today than in 2008! SERIOUSLY!
And remember it is Conservatives who have been screaming from the roof tops since 2008 how this country was literally gonna fall off the cliff with Obama at the helm.
No such thing has occurred, the nation has battled a tough recession and we are finally seeing daylight.
The funny thing about everything is that at the end it's all about politics....conservative politicians will NOT admit to any good news whatsoever because it will be an endorsement of a competent presidency towards a man they BITTERLY hate....probably hate more than any other person on this planet.
And the supporters are really not that better.....they rarely if ever call them out, and do a great job of making apologetic tactics in their name....this is the CULT of Conservatism.
I'm NOT a democratic supporter, I'm politically an independent liberal.
I have no ties to Obama, and I've made plenty of posts on this very forum against him.
The whole "Thanks Obama" thing is a direct shot at the moronic GOP/GOP Supporters/Conservative brain dead individuals that literally blame Obama for EVERYTHING and sarcastically say "Thanks Obama" for any and all ills within the country.
The irony is of course, that "Thanks Obama" is now a meme on the internet, thanks in part for MY generation that loves to make satire out of anything.
So once more....#THANKSOBAMA, you didn't drive us off the cliff like the lunatic GOP literally thought you would.
#THANKSOBAMA for making gas cheap.....cuz the clownish GOP likes to blame you when it's super high, why not give thanks when it's low...
#THANKSOBAMA for allowing the nation and the world to see the GOP/Conservatives for the hypocritical frauds they really are.
Oh and #THANKSOBAMA for being a Muslim/communist/socialist/kenyan/anti-christ.....cuz that's still better than being a Conservative.Last edited by JustAlex; 05-05-2015 at 04:16 AM.

I posted the link awhile back. Why don't you go read it too.

I read all that you posted about it. It has nothing to do with welfare and I responded with that fact. Maybe you should learn how to read all of the posts directed at you.

The student debt is a problem. Why don't you write to the GOP and ask them to do something about it? They are the ones in power. I am sure Obama will sign any bill the GOP puts forth that helps students and their debt.

I will give credit where it is due. It is a shame that a Canadian has such a grip on our political system. Habs you should move to the US you would be a great source of knowledge for our political system. But then of course it might not be as interesting living in it as opposed to studying it.

Explain to me why taxpayers should foot the bill of student debt. Did someone trick these people into going to college on student loans? Was there so government scheme to get them to seek higher education and go in debt doing it? I have student loans and I am responsible and pay about $500 a month in payments. Why is anyone entitled to a free pass on what they knowingly and intentionally accepted? What next? Paying people's house and car payment? How about a little maturity and responsibility for a change?

It had everything to do with the idiotic idea that the rise in people on welfare had to do with baby boomers reaching retirement age, leaving the job market and going on welfare. That is why you ignored it. You repeated excuses for the rise in welfare recipients and the decline in workers is baseless.
I repeat:
Based on data from the US Census and US Bureau of Labor
Number of people employed in 2008 - 137.9 million
Number of people employed 2015 - 119.9 million
- A net loss of 18 million.
Number of people between 18 and 65 in 2008 - 181.6 million
Number of people between age of 18 and 65 in 2015 - 199.6 million
- A net gain of 18 million.

I'm not talking about footing the bill in any way. You borrow it, you should pay it back. From what I have seen about the issue, the issue is the amount of interest the government is raking in on these student loans. Why not lower that interest rate to give these newly graduated students a break as they start out in life on their own?

Student loan interest rates are the lowest of just about any interest rates (3.86%) and the loans are distributed by banks, so that is where the interest is going. I know the government is getting interest too, but no bank is going to waste their time with the paperwork and hassle of providing interest-free loans.
And the kicker...when you do your taxes you get a deduction equal to your student loan interest paid, so you are out nothing.
The real robbery is colleges charging a $50 fee to distribute your student loan checks to you.Last edited by duane1969; 05-05-2015 at 10:07 AM.
