Beckett: First Look WWE Topps 2015 Undisputed

    http://www.beckett.com/news/2015/05/...sputed/?ref=cj

World Wrestling Entertainment cards have officially gone high-end.

Topps revealed the first images and basic details for its first high-end WWE trading card brand on Monday with 2015 Topps WWE Undisputed, a hit-based product that will pack 10 hits — seven autographs and three autographed Relics — per box when it arrives on Oct. 7.

Each pack will contain three base cards, one parallel and one auto or auto Relic, while there will be eight boxes per case.

A familiar creation from UFC sets will be found here — Fistographs — where a wrestler’s fist print will be found alongside their auto on an oversized card limited to only 10 copies. There also will be Undisputed Cut autos — 1/1 creations — and two types of advanced autos. One will be Famous Rivalries Duals — cards limited to 25 pairing rivals — and the other will be Four Corners Quadragraph booklets. These will be limited to only 10 copies.

Autographed Relics will be made for present-day stars with parallels there being the same as the standard autos. An even larger creation for fans will be Famous Rivalries dual auto jumbo Relic books — cards limited to only five copies that will have oversized swatches alongside autos.
The base set will consist of 100 cards — a mix of past and present stars — with six parallels per card. They will be Red, Black (/99), Purple (/50), Silver (/25) and 1/1 Gold and printing plates. Among the insert cards will be NXT Prospects, Cage Evolution Moments — a set highlighting the steel cage — and Famous Finishers. Each will have the same six parallels as the base set.
A preliminary checklist was not released.

I don't really see how a high end set with basically current autographs of wrestlers still alive is going to work. This might have worked before Leaf released a bunch of autographs of people who never had autographs before (or very few) but how many wrestlers still have an expensive autograph now?

I wonder how much a box will go for? Maybe 200-250$ish? I cant wait to view the checklist!

If I were Topps, I'd be doing all I can to get The Undertaker to sign. Some other signers I think would be good (and some personal wishes): Vince McMahon, Goldust, Big Van Vader, Sid Vicious, a dual auto of Demolition's Ax and Smash, The Rock, Steve Austin.

On a side note, there's sooo many more wrestlers I wish could sign except for the lone obvious problem.. Randy Savage, Rick Rude, Davey Boy Smith, Brian Pillman, Gorilla Monsoon, Owen Hart, a dual auto of The Road Warriors, Andre the Giant, Chris Candido, Big Boss Man, Earthquake etc. etc.

With 10 autographs in a box I would say $250.00-$300.00. If you are getting 80 autographs per case they will have to get a lot of signers for this product.

At $200 a box I am probably going to pass, the new five star in baseball is all on card as usual. All the pictures so far are of stickers and of guys with tons of topps autos already, maybe I will change my mind if they have some cuts or the signer list blows me away with some rarer guys.
