I tell you I am not a huge Facebook user but I have used my local yard sale sites on Facebook and I cleared out 1/4 of old kids toys an clothes that I was selling on the Bay for a while. Easy $10 and $15 transactions and I racked up about $250 in a weeks time. A nice alternative to Craigslist

I belong to a few of those local garage sale FB pages. They get a good amount of traffic and some items have people lined up to buy certain things. I'm just not a fan of scheduling meet up times with people. If someone is then these are perfect ways to sell stuff. Plus they usually are set that the buyer picks up and you can get a sense of the person a bit more since they have a FB account.

I end up making about 50% of my sales on Facebook. Dealing with no shows and back-outs is a pain in the neck, but overall worth dealing with. My run of luck on cookie jars has been entirely on Facebook.

The one I deal with most I literally meet around the corner from my home so its is a 2 minute walk or 30 second drive. I would say I pulled about $400 in the last 2 months with mostly yard sale stuff that is just too low end for the Bay.

I don't know what the rest of that was, but I'm real sad to hear Jay's Hangout for Conservatives and those he can Beat in an Argument is closing. Where are you guys gonna sling those same 3 insults now?

I tell you this Facebook is humming as I sold about $75 in items that I listed Friday and then bought a jungle green N64 with 6 ganes for $15 from a Facebook yard sale site. Yard sales were slim this weekend but nice weather though.


And to answer TY no more insults to read as those guys are going elsewhere and this site won't have these trolls ruining the site. So a win win for all of us.

Not that great a weekend out picking. Really grabbed nothing. Managed a small Pandora jewellery box a couple weeks ago. Bought 50 cent, sold $25.

And I'm sure a couple of them are sticking around...

I hit a neighborhood sale/flea market that sets up in a small historical neighborhood this weekend. There are quite a few vendors set up but also quite a few garage sales. I picked up a lot of stuff. Old shipping crate, cool vintage chair, a spoiler for a 70's camaro, a like new miniature board game, and a huge nikon camera lot... plus a lot of other odds and ends. Only spent $65.

The camera lot was odd. The lady had $50 on it and we couldn't get the shutter button to click. Messed around with it for a bit but never figured it out. She had a ton of extras. 3 lenses, some filters, some lens converters and other accessories. She ended up giving me the lot since we couldn't get the camera to work. I got it home and I think I just need batteries for it to work. Will find out when I get some batteries. Two of the lenses are pretty high end, but had no way of knowing when I was talking to her. I feel kind of bad that she gave them to me knowing the value of the lenses now. Lenses are tricky though so without knowing their value I wouldn't have given her much since we couldn't get the camera to work. If the camera works the lot should fetch about $200-$250.
