Malone's close friend, fellow Hall-of-Famer, Calvin Murphy told Fox 26 that Malone failed to show up to breakfast ahead of a golf tournament in Norfolk, Virginia today.

It was highly unusual for Malone not to show up, so security went to his hotel room where they found the NBA legend dead.

Murphy told the station: 'Last night we were having a great time. This morning we got up to play in a golf tournament and he didn't come to breakfast, which is very unlike Mo.

'We were all leaving to go to the golf tournament. Finally, they sent security to his room. I guess he had a heart attack in his sleep. This is what was told to me this morning.'

More terrible news. Can we please, PLEASE get through the rest of 2015 without losing another legend?

Let's hope so. Dawkins and Malone were way too young. :(
