Anyone miss Victory or Score?
I've just never been a big MVP person, and Victory and Score were really fun for building sets and collecting basic RCs. The cheapest hobby box of cards shouldn't be $50-$60 in my opinion. That said, I very much enjoy the high end stuff, when I can get my hands on it that is.

Btw, great to be back on SCF! Due to life circumstances, I've taken a bit of a hiatus from actively collecting. However, I've been back sniffing around the forums for a week or so and decided to get back on. Hope all your collections are growing bountifully and go Wild!

2013-14 Score got me back into Hockey Cards since I stopped mid-1994, so I have a soft spot for that set and really enjoyed building it. Loved the photography, the inserts and the couple of autos you got per box (and I also got in blasters). Loved the smell too; reminded me of the old school cards from the early 1990's!

I really liked Score when it came back. At least initially it was at a nice price point for entry level collectors, the set looked good and had some cool inserts. Towards the end, they raised the price and it lost a bit of its appeal to me. However, I do wish it was still around.

I've never purchased Victory, Score or MVP. If I have I can't remember. My cousin pulled Short Printed Rookies of Score Taylor Hall, Derek Stepan and a Young Guns 20th Anni. Derek Stepan from RETAIL packs at the SAME CONVENIENCE STORE! I don't know how .... but I imagine the younger collectors or the huge set-builders are missing these sets. I did admire the photography though. The photos are something I miss in most sets nowadays which is why I don't often collect base sets anymore.
I do have a pile of Victory and Score that I may finally get to today. That being said if you anyone wants first crack at some of them PM me with a list of needs.Master List: Hidden Content

I'd personally rather see products like this over the expensive stuff to help out the younger collectors. With Score kids can build a bigger set and as a result, have more players to collect and possibly send them away for TTM autos. Victory is the perfect low end set for its price ($1-$1.50/pack depending on where you were). It has a decent sized rookie list, 5-6 players per team and a couple insert sets. People hate it because its such a cheap set but its great. Not everything has to be numbered, autographed or have a swatch of a jersey to still be a decent product.

I liked Victory when they didn't put series 2 as inserts in Upper Deck.

It's nice to see you back on the boards!
I liked Score in its final year--I actually build the set, which is something I hadn't done much of since I stopped doing Black Diamond after 09-10. Fun rip, inexpensive, neat parallels, and as others have noted: on-ice hockey photography. We don't get enough of that.
Habs fan and collector! Current PC's: Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, and Lane Hutson...., and of course...
