Feels like what Panini is doing in Basketball....all for group breakers.....

Except hockey collectors are so finicky....anything "new" is never collectible like Premier, OPC platinum, etc.

You nailed that one solidly. People complain about the "same old products with minor design tweaks" and then they get something new, and complain about that too. I liked the new stuff from last season, some great cards can be had for low prices. But as I posted yesterday...

I'll Go To Sleep on this one unless this product proves to be The Best in The World. If it comes with an UD Ice cream bar then I'll consider it.

Upper Deck already said this was going to be a MID END product.
The only high end thing about it will be the price.

If you consider the fact that they're actually revamping products and making some new products they're at least doing SOMETHING. After the exclusive I expected just a rehash of all existing products and them brining back the ones cut out when Panini came in like MVP, Ice, etc.

The one thing I would like to see, since inserts are clawing their way back into popularity, and parallels do have their fans, is one release with a deep base set, handful of parallels, and then various inserts. But NO auto or game-used to keep the price down. OPC is close to what I'm saying, but they still do the autos and such. A 500 card base set with 4 or 5 parallels and a handful of insert sets might get my interest, but not at the price points OPC or OPC platinum runs. If something was around MVP's price within those confines I might settle on collecting that product each year. I think that could be done and be an affordable product but with still enough oomph that people wouldn't regard it as an inferior product.
