I'm a player collector, teams have two many cards. I collect Tuukka rask, usually base cards or inserts. I tend to buy them on the picture, I have a few jersey and patch cards and a couple autos but base cards are cheaper and I like cards for the picture. I do passively collect the oilers and Bruins but only if I pull the cards or get them in a break, I don't buy them. I also like insert sets, the cheaper the better, mainly goalies and nice pictures. I've started framing them to hang them on the wall, cheap pretty or bright inserts look quite nice as decoration.

I realize this thread is a year old, but I do both. First and foremost, I collect anything and everything Nate Prosser. When it comes to Wild players, if they're in a Wild jersey, it says Wild on the card or was produced directly prior to a player being signed by or traded to the Wild, I collect the card. I also collect rookie cards of any player that has ever been drafted by, traded to or signed by Minnesota.

My main focus is Charlie Coyle followed by anyone in a Wild jersey! The only thing I will trade my random Wild stuff for is for Coyle stuff I don't have yet, in fact I've already done it a few times haha.

As usual, late to the party but I am primarily a player collector in hockey, though I do have a little side collection of Oilers base cards by OPC. It's manageable, not too expensive, and with my (as most of us have) OCD, and the need to be a "completist", I'd go crazy, broke or both if I didn't really rein in my collecting parameters for a team collection. As for the player collection, I need to have one of every card I can possibly have. Outside of 1/1s, plates and show cards, I've got 1740/1820 identified Osgood cards (95.6%), but it's those damned missing 80 cards that are driving me mad.

These are impressive. Wow! You should definitely apply to become a official "Super Collector" here on SCF. Very nicely done!

Thanks; too often I've had to take a break from collecting due to life, so I've had to play catch up over and over. I still have faith that one day I'll get those pesky missing cards added to the collection. Gotta dream right? :p Also picked up my 12th game worn jersey from the recent Classic Auction sale. So damned addictive!

As for applying for Super Collector status, it's always been a goal, but I have to scan in every card in my collection first, and that takes a while since I'm so picky on how they look after scanning them. I've put front and back on my website for most seasons, but still have to scan in 3 years worth in the late 90s that I keep promising myself I'll get to, and it never happens. LOL
