1st followup question: How do I determine a "better" card investment between two card lines (in this case topps supreme vs panini black gold) if I DON'T have ebay sold prices available. In other words is should I just buy a beckett reference guide or is there something on cardboard connection that defines/compares different lines. I know what I like the look of and that is the most important, I just don't want to overpay...

It really depends on the brand and sport. I mean in basketball Panini Prizm is a really hot brand but in baseball it is treated as garbage. Topps Chrome football is really big but was never really that popular in baseball. So I guess what I'm saying is you either have to learn what brands are better or get somebody on here to tell you if Topps Supreme or Panini Black Gold is better.

Thanks pwaldo, it does seem like a case of learning through experience as there is constant shifts of popularity and no definitive guide on this hobby...

    ***Followup question fo the day:

Panini Redemptions; is there a list or database of players that don't comply with their contract and have to be substituted? Is there any info out there in general on redemptions? I was interested in some listings on COMC but I'm really not sure what I'm potentially paying for. Steer me in some sort of direction please!

This is a genius idea. I mean people are always posting on the boards about how this card won't be made or this guy just isn't signing but nobody really puts it all together. If they did it would be a great tool for the community.
