What value level do YOU put in a one-touch

All the cards I display (my 24 cup collection) go in one-touches and team bags. I also have many others with higher values stored the same way only in a case. I probably have 300-400 one-touches in all.

My valuable cards consist mostly of rookies and stars from the 1970s and 1980s, so there's more nostalgic value than monetary value.

I stopped collecting before the big "hits" came into play, like game-used jersey/bat/smelly sock relics and 1/1 cards.

So, for me it's just penny sleeves and semi-rigid card holders (e.g., UltraPro or Card Saver II).

I do remember having a few screw-down holders at one point, but as another SCF member has already noted, the cards have a tendency to move around between the slabs. So I stopped using them.

For me...none.

Some might call me crazy, but pretty much all my PC cards are in binders, not one touches or anything. Even the "higher end" 1/1's, etc. I just love displaying and looking at my PC in a binder. Keeps everything neat and tidy.

I am never going to sell them, so it doesn't matter to me if they are not kept in "pristine" condition. The only reason for a big one-touch is if you are going to display it or try to sell it. If you are just storing it in a box, it is a waste of money and space. And a big expensive one-touch that is scratched looks worse than a clean top loader.

Anything from a higher end set..... I've got a lot of Cup Rookies, but not necessarily valuable ones, they all go in one touches - has more to do with thickness than value.

The high valued stuff - it depends. Most is in onetouches, but some toploaders.

I can't stand one-touch cases! I use toploaders. I do understand when people put thick cards in one-touch cases, but they are the only cards I would accept in those though.

I am with Sharky94 and creasecollector. All my Leier PC Cards are in a binder to look at, no matter the value, unless they are too thick, like The Cup. I have high gloss young guns in a binder, and white hot showcase rookie out of /5, and several printing plates. I will never sell mine, and will likely give the whole works to Leier's family when he retires. Of the cards that don't fit the binder, they are mostly in top loaders, except for three or four that came in nice clean one-touches, like the black rookie shield card. But, to each his own. My entire non-PC is in binders too, because I like to look at them.

I used to put everything in one-touches, from 80's rc's to various patch cards from sets I chip away at. I switched to top loaders over the last year for two reasons, space and weight.

A couple days ago I was switching cards I had in a two row shoe box (mostly SPA Limited Auto Patches and Rookie Reviews) and before I began the process I weighed the box. It weighed 10.6 pounds and was completely full. After the conversion, I had almost one full row empty and the box weighed 4.4 pounds.

Also, in terms of travelling for shows that I set up at, although I think that cards present nicer in one-touches, I can fit more cards into my showcases and of course the travel is easier as everything is lighter.

And....top loaders are about 80% cheaper than one-touches so lots of money saved too.

For me, it's simple:

1. Anything I consider high end
2. Anything I cannot fit into a top-loader
3. Anything I like that I want to be displayed/protected in a one-touch!

Everything that goes into a one-touch gets bagged as well.
To date, I have not had any problems storing in a one-touch. I find that when they are in and then bagged, the card does not move around much, if at all. Make sure the bag is on tight, and the card will not move. I've had a friend of mine drop a card ones in a one-touch that was bagged and no damage whatsoever.
I do agree they are significantly heavier than toploader, but I like the look of them in the one-touch so I keep them in there.

Don't really have a set formula - I go by the visual and what I think is best for the card. Usually something like a Mega Patch or just a really nice hard-signed auto.
