I've started buying contenders. will do the regular set (1-100) but thats about it. Maybe the legendary contenders insert set too.

Well I have a bunch of the other inserts too if your interested. I am sure I can do a decent trade for them since they are mostly surplus. Lemme know I am super easy to trade with and I am not looking for GU/Autos/s#'d stuff either. I think the stuff is nice but overrated. I am a collector first and foremost and all those kind of cards that people try to horde are profit cards I ain't in it for money. I'm in it because it was something I did with my Mom when I was a kid and I enjoyed it. Never for the money that's what turns me off about collecting nowadays. People have truly forgotten what card collecting once was. A way for friends or family to share together and have a great time. The excitement of ripping open a pack of cards was payment enough now it's all about money...just like everything else. People have taken a fun hobby that was fun and rewarding and completely destroyed it.

I know what you're saying. I dont trade anywhere near as much as I used to for those reasons. I dont sell on ebay or anywhere else, so the $ for me is irrelevant. I'm 56 years old and have collected on and off since I was about 10 so it will always be about collecting for me.
I have slowed down a lot since Panini got the exclusive NFL license. I liked Topps and Upper Deck more so I was disappointed that they got the license but they didn't ask me - lol.
Its cool that you and your mom got into it when you were a kid. It certainly isn't a family based business anymore as its gotten so stupidly expensive. Right...like everything else.

Nice - i need all of those at this point. I'm still going to buy at least a couple more boxes so I'll probably end up pulling a few of those, but I dont mind dups of stuff like that as I have a friend locally that collects these sorts of cards as well so I can trade dups of these to him if I end up with any.
Le me know if I have anything you can use for those.
