Upper Deck 300 Win Club Checklist Error???

Over the years I have been faithfully putting together the Upper Deck Piece of History sets. This includes the 500 Goal Club, 1000 Point Club and 300 Win Club.

For the 2017-18 Upper Deck Series 2 Hockey product the checklist says that Upper Deck was adding Kari Lehtonen and Cam Ward to the set. I have searched high and low and have not come across any regular version of either card. I have seen 2 copies of the limited patch version /10 for each player (and purchased one of each).

I am wondering if anyone has seen the regular version of these cards or if they do not exist.

I am coming to the conclusion it is like the 1000 Point Club Gretzky card - no regular versions exist. Only the /10 version which for the 1000 Point Club were autograph cards.

Also not the cards say series 1 but were released in series 2.

Does anyone have any insight regarding this?

First off, great additions to your collection!

I looked at the checklist and it didn't even make a reference to the patch /10 version, only a jersey. So maybe that is the only card?

As for the Ward and Lehts 300 WC cards, I have not seen a jersey version either which is odd. It shouldn't be a limited print run due to the ease of memorabilia access for both these goalies, which is why this is so confusing. And I suspect the Series 1 but released in Series 2 thing could have been a pack-out issue for these cards.

Not as diligent as you, but I also collect the 300 WC set. I will be keeping an eye out for the regular versions of these cards if they ever surface. Maybe they will release them in S1 next year and just wanted to release the patch cards /10 for now? Who knows.

We could be waiting a long time for UD to make a regular version if what they did with the 2 1,000 Point Club Players that never had regular cards made is any indication. I waited a couple years and finally broke down and bought the Gretzky/10 as it doesn’t appear a regular version is coming.

The Gretzky /10 was released in 2015/16 and wasn’t even on the checklist (Doug Weight /10 was on the checklist but never made - he didn’t have a regular version either). Somehow Adam Oates got released twice - both times in Boston uniforms, one home and one away and both not only have regular versions but /10 autos.

With Gretzky or Oates, I could see UD not having enough materials for those guys to warrant going back and releasing a regular version (especially Gretzky), but for Ward and Lehtonen (both modern goaltenders who have used a bunch of jerseys), I could definitely see UD still having a fair bit of jersey material left for those 300 WC jersey cards.
