BGS Grading for odd shaped/die cut cards?
Hi all, as the title states I have a few odd shaped die cut cards I would like to send off for grading. I was just wondering what everybody’s experience was with BGS grading on these types of cards? The cards I would like to send don’t have corners. I’d be sending the 2014-15 OPC Platinum Stanley Cup Champs Autos of Patrick Roy and Jonathan Toews. Roy is pictured below for reference. Just wanted to see if there was any experience with having odd shaped cards graded and any feedback on the subject. Thanks!IMG_0012.jpg

Like normal sized cards, some are tougher to grade than others due to the foil used, size, etc. I'm no grading expert, but it will be fine to grade. If you search up "BGS Die Cut" on COMC for example, you'll find examples of graded cards with no corners. I suppose in theory it would be tougher to get a 9.5 on a die-cut card, due to the card having more oddly shaped edges that can be affected during the unique printing process and/or handling, but that is total speculation on my part.
It's a beautiful card, and at the very least would see it protected and slabbed in the end, which is never a bad thing. I'm not too into slabbed cards myself (just due to storage issues), but it's not a bad idea on a rare Roy auto that you have there.
Best of luck!
Here's a random die-cut baseball card I found on COMC. A lot of rounded edged, and it did grade very well.

Thanks for the input! Shortly after I posted I took my search over to ebay and searched it up. I guess I was just looking for folks personal experiences on it as I just picked up the Toews to go with it and am looking at slabbing them both. Thanks again for the help!

No problem, happy to give some input where I can. And those two cards would look great slabbed and sitting side-by-side IMO.
