    Howdy!!

I'm new to the site as a member. But I must admit I did spend some time as a troll....sorry.

My name is Rebecca and my husband and I have a large collection of cards. We were planning on having a side business but things have gone awry. My husband is now disabled, he can work on the net but he can't handle the cards. I have to go back to work to make ends meet and to compound the problem, because of this we now need to sell in order to repay the estate, and my brothers are not patient at all!!

As far as the cards, we have over 80,000 cards from 1950's to 2014. We have MLB, NFL, NBA, Non-Sports, and I could go on....and on....and on.... We have auto and material cards, and we have some memorabilia as well. And all this doesn't include our comic book collection, figurines..............etc.

Honestly, I came here for a little guidance from you wise collectors!! This is tearing me up, but you gotta do what you gotta do. Life happens. I would love to be able to discuss this with anyone who might want to listen and give me some idea of what to do other than burning it all to the ground and hoping to win the lottery.

Thanks so much for listening, I promise I won't be a bother. If you'd like to know more about what I have etc. Please let me know, the more informed y'all are will make it easier for me to somehow solve my problem. I just don't want to get taken, and I have to put my trust somewhere. I know there are good people here, I've been reading and learning and that's why I feel so free to share.

    Thanks SO MUCH!!!
    Rebecca

These are a couple of pictures of the collection in boxes, however not all of it is shown here, just most of it.

Nowadays, if you are wanting to sell, check eBay sold listings for your cards to give you an idea of what people would pay for them. Price guides like Beckett's has almost become obsolete these days. Some of the guys on here are pretty knowledgeable on cards too, so they may be interested in some and give you guidance on how best to sell, etc. I'm sure you may get a lot of info on here. I am sorry to hear of your predicament, and I hope everything gets better, and you get a lot of help on here.

    Hi,

I don't know what kind of area you live in but if it is a good area and you don't mind selling on a place like craigslist I'd go that route. That way people can pick up the stuff without you having to ship it all and you aren't going to have to pay the eBay fees for selling stuff. You might even get lucky and find a guy willing to buy most or all of it.

These are all GREAT suggestions!! And I'm going to take every single one to heart, but I still can't get passed my initial struggle "With so many cards, where do I start?"

By player, by sport, can I bundle into Lots and still get a fair price? I'm so lost!!!

I'm just thinking out loud here, but is there a local card shop near you? Maybe they can buy in bulk so you can unload a bunch of cards at once. You may sacrifice some dollar value per card, but it can give you some cash in-hand quicker.
