McDavid Rookie Card Value Question....

Looking to gauge opinions on the value of these four McDavid Rookie Cards. If I was to buy one right now, what would you expect that I'd have to pay?


2015-16 Coutours Auto / Mem /199 #131
2015-16 Fleer Showcase Auto / Mem /299 #189
2015-16 OPC Platinum Auto #190
2015-16 SPx Auto / Mem /399 #169


Also - I'm sure the SPx & Showcase autos are stickers. Correct? The OPC Platinum is not? The Countours I'm not sure at all (I assume yes, but can't tell from the pics I see).

From what I see, the SPx should run between $500 & $600. The Showcase more like $300-$400. Can't find much info at all on the other two.

It's what I remember too. the common auto rookies without a swatch used a sticker, while the SPs /199 with a jersey swatch were hardsigned

Bumping an old thread of my own (as this one haunts me a bit).

Was in the market for a McDavid auto rookie of somekind.... SPA was already going for more than $1k, so it was out of my price range.

I really should have pursued getting one of these ones. The SPX & Showcase prices I quoted in my thread were eBay sales at the time. Pretty sure the Contours could have been had for $300. Not sure about the Platinum - but it wasn't crazy either.

For $300 now all you could get is a BGS 9.5 Portfolio RC?
I am kind of temped to get an ungraded one, not a bad looking card.

Nothing autographed for a sane price.

I really like his Fleer Blue Ice/199 rc but an ungraded one is asking $1700 and it doesn't look nrmt.

Last year I grabbed a Panarin copy for .99 cents! lol
It's all or nothing in this hobby.

It is funny to look back on prices because as these examples show - it takes maybe two or three years but prices move up and down sometimes in big ways!

Yup. A McDavid Auto RC is unfordable for me now. Should have gone for one then (I think by February or March or 2020, so only a few months after I started this thread, they took a big jump)

I would agree. They rocketed up almost 10X. Other cards jumped like Gretzky, Ovechkin, but not quite to the same degree as McDavid. His cards seemed to be really undervalued, possibly due to the high YG print runs? That wouldn't affect number RC - SPA/Cup, but his OPC Platinum was crazy low, and now is crazy high!
