SP Game Used Tonight's Lineup Cards
Is it just me, or are these just as goofy as Leaf cards that feature a swatch from a team that's different than the player's picture?
Bortuzzo isn't in the photo at all...

UD probably cut up the whole line up card, and is lazy and just wants to use the same generic "St.Louis Blues" pic for all of them. But yes, it's dumb.

Cool concept, sub-optimal execution.
To me, the ideal way to do that card right is to have the player's actual stats from the game incorporated into the design in some capacity. Use a photo of them from the game, and come with a way to include the lineup note displayed next to or above the traditional stats: TOI / G / A / Pts / PIM's
On the back you have the "Congratulations!" write up along with a brief summary of their game performance.
"Bortuzzo had four shots on goal in the game, and helped the Blues kill all five penalties against them, logging over 17 minutes of ice time."
Habs fan and collector! Current PC's: Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, and Lane Hutson...., and of course...

With you 100% RGM, now THAT would be a card I'd love to add to my collection.

I like this idea of giving some additional context behind the relic. Otherwise it's a just a cut relic featuring the handwriting of the assistant coach of the team featured on the card.
Edit: I feel like this falls into the same category as things like manufacturered patches or net cords that get a random player image and name slapped on the card even though there's no direct connection between the relic and player.
I understand some people like and appreciate these types of relics for what they are but to me they seem like an easy way out for UD.Last edited by leaflandwest; 05-15-2020 at 07:07 PM.

Those manufactured letter cards are much more awful than these...

Yeah I agree with that. Like why not take it a step further and package cards with autopen autos with a little disclaimer on the back that it's a manufactured auto. I probably shouldn't give them any ideas lol

Dayum, I haven't thought about that. I can't wait for the next big thing - manufactured banner with autopen autograph. People would spend top dollar for almost everything.

You can get Gretzky autopen signatures pretty easily. Chapters released his book with a "Signed Edition" and they were all obviously auto-pen. I was so disappointed because I'd never owned a Gretzky auto before but as soon as I opened up the book when I got mine in the mail it was obvious.

I really loved the idea for this set, but not incorporating the player on the card is just really sloppy in my opinion. Just having the player on the lineup sheet fully visible in a action shot would have been simple and made the card 10 times better.
