Apologies for bumping this old thread. Saw the thread about the McDavid 1/1 hit from Credentials and this reminded me of this particular card.

Wanted to see what it eventually sold for and after just some quick googling, found out it is currently for auction at Lelands Auctions.

Any guesses on final price? Ends in June apparently...

It is at the very least, really weird, but it's what humans do. Gold, diamonds, rare trinkets, coins, and tiny photos of men who dedicate their entire lives to playing games...I got one, the one, the one of one. The great, big, kahuna one, and it's the only one, so you can't have it!

To be fair, Upper Deck isn't going to see that final result in their coffers. A very fortunate individual who bought into the product (which still costs a fair bit in its own right!) is parlaying that purchase into some big bucks.

This is kind of the essence of any memorabilia/collectibles hobby, though. We don't drop $120 on a box of cards because we like pictures of hockey men. We do it because these pictures of hockey men have value.
