2021-22
I'm bored so here are some random thoughts...
The Panthers are 6-0. Will they actually do something in the play-offs?
Their rookie goalie Spencer Knight is also 6-0 to start his career.
Maybe the Cup stays in Florida but a different team.
Get a Barkov and Huberdeau YG's while their cheap?
The Leaf's suck and it's all Marner's fault. j/k but his contracts makes him the easy scapegoat. 10.9 Million and he has 1 pt in 7 games...
How did they lose to the Crosby-less Penguins 7-1?
I wonder if a big trade happens if results don't improve soon.
Alex Ovechkin is incredible.
7 goals and 12 points in 6 games.
He should easily pass Jagr this year and Howe next year.
McDavid is also incredible.
He has improved his shot and now has a one-timer.
13 pts in 5 games.
Can he average 2 pts a game for the season?
Does it matter if his team stinks in the play-offs yet again?
Wings Swedish rookie Lucas Raymond for the Calder?
Cole Caulfield back to the AHL? j/k Who scores more goals?
The Blues are 5-0.
Judging by the goal Tarasenko scored against the Kings he still has talent. lol. Some folks had written him off.
The Jets have won 2 straight without Wheeler and Schefiele.
Pierre Luc Dubois is starting to look like the player he was expected to be and is having good chemistry with Kyle Connor.
D-men Nate Schmidt and Brenden Dillon appear to be exactly what they needed.
The Sabres are off to a hot start...
Stanley Cup finalists Habs are not.
The Yotes are last as usual. What is the point of this team?
Jack Hughes was looking good until he got squashed like a bug.
I hope he bounces back and can become a star, but who does he have to play with?
Lafreniere has 3 pts in 7 games. Not exactly exciting considering the hype.
Same point total as Elias Pettersson though. Expensive Young Guns...
What would be his over/under for points this year? 45 maybe...
Patrick Laine is not as good as Austin Mathews.
But...who is? Mathews is now the 2nd fastest current player to 200 goals.
Laine in his own right is a great goal scorer. He is looking good to start the year.
Too bad he plays in Ohio.
Charlie McAvoy gets 9.5 Million. I don't get it. 6.5 would make more sense but I think very few players are worth near 10 M to a team.
Will Jack Eichel ever get traded, get surgery and play like he can again?
He is an amazing talent so lets hope so, especially if it could be for the Bruins. Bergy is getting old as dust.
Imagine if the Habs got him? They could sure use a star #1 center.
Maybe the Leaf's blow it up and trade Marner and more for him. That would be fun. The hobby hype would be big. Eichel and Matthews together...
Well I am out of thoughts...
Good luck to your favorite team and happy collecting.

I'm bored too so I'll add my thoughts, haha.
The Leafs have potential, though that's been said a lot over the last 20 years. Personally, I think all 4 top players are overpaid. Matthews is too streaky, they can't pass the puck, and Marner can't hit the net. When they're on, the Leafs are amazing, but lately they can only sustain pressure in the o-zone at the end of a period when they're down a goal or two. As for a trade of the major players, I don't think many teams would be willing to take over the contracts....
McDavid IS incredible! Might be a long shot, but wouldn't it be awesome if he could break 200 points this year? I'll be rooting for him.
Sabres: Wow. I doubt they'll sustain it though. I need them to drop so the Leafs have a better chance, haha :)
Lafreniere: Lots of hype, but he needs more time. A full season this year should give him some experience and with that, I think he'll live up to the hype, given some time....
I like Binnington so.... Yay!

Hawks up 2-0 only 12 minutes into the game. Yikes!
Bigger stream of thought - I was listening to the 32 Thoughts Podcast today and they had a long sequence about the Leafs and how much disarray they're in, and they focused a bit on the All or Nothing series. Did that show, not the filming crew, but the consequence of the show, have an influence on how poor guys like Marner are playing? They went in-depth about how sacrosanct the locker room culture is in the NHL, and how the airing of Marner's confidence problems has had them persisting. I don't know about that, but it's interesting. They recorded the show Monday so it was before they lost to Carolina but just in the wake of the Pittsburgh blowout. Now they're losing to Chicago....you have to think something will give soon. There's too much talent on that roster for them to be this bad.
Also, everything is pain for me as a Habs fan right now. LOL
Habs fan and collector! Current PC's: Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, and Lane Hutson...., and of course...

Leaf's sign Morgan Reilly to long term deal.
With that contract 5 players take up 59% of their available cap!
That leaves 41% left for a # 1 goalie, 2nd D and a revolving door of old vets and spare parts.
Those 5 players are talented but not Gretzky, Kurri, Messier, Anderson, Coffee talented.
I don't see this group winning a cup.

Habs send Cauilflower to the minors.
Maybe he will have only 1 pt when his YG comes out...
Being replaced by a guy named Pezzetta. Sounds like a spicy cheese. lol
