Storing Hockey Cards
Hello everyone,
I recently expanded my collection and started putting more cards in toploaders and two and three row shoeboxes ( I believe that is what they are called). Not all of the cards are stored in a storage bin due to space. I recently realized that we have field mice and was wondering if anyone knew if they will eat my cards not in bins? We are working with a pest control person but I also want my cards to be protected while that process takes place. Also, being in a more rural setting is new for me so maybe it is absurd to think a mice would eat pieces of cardboard but I do not want to see it happen and be too late.

100% mice will eat cards. The only solution is to put cards in the 3 or 4 tow boxes and into Tupperware with mice bait loose on the inside of the tub. Another alternative is metal boxes (with the cardboard on the inside).

Thank you for the response. Will the mice try to enter if the tupperware is well sealed? Is the mice bait necessary, I don't want to damage the container were to get moved around but someone other than myself.

The sealed Tupperware is a last ditch effort to keep the mice out… bait inside is so that if they chew through you get the first four or five mice to sneak in.
Your new issue is moisture. You should also put a few desiccant packs inside (those little packs of beads you get when you buy new electronics).
