Post Robot umpires to be used in AAA in 2022

    https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...le-A-2022.html

Robot umpires are getting a promotion after Major League Baseball announced it is expanding its automated strike zone experiment to Triple-A, the highest level of the minor leagues.

MLB's website posted a hiring notice seeking seasonal employees to operate the Automated Ball and Strike system.

The independent Atlantic League became the first American professional league to let a computer call balls and strikes at its All-Star Game in July 2019 and experimented with ABS during the second half of that season. It also was used in the Arizona Fall League for top prospects in 2019, drawing complaints of its calls on breaking balls.

There were no minor leagues in 2020 due to the pandemic, and robot umps were used last season in eight of nine ballparks at the Low-A Southeast League.

My question is how they set the strike zone for somebody like Rickey Henderson used to squat so much , I can see the plate width but for each batter High and low strike?

I think it would be easy to do. As if they hunch the strike zone is from the shoulder to the waist correct. I am sure with the technology the computer is doing a live diagnostic of the person as they stand tall, hunch, etc. So the strike zone would be every changing based on the player stance?

    Does that make sense?

Trial & error we will see ! I would be interested in the players feedback from AAA.
First they have to get back to playing baseball
