Rutger McGroarity to the Jets. Kyle Conner 2.0 I hope.

The Sabres seem to have a ton of young talent.

What an incredible few minutes that was!

Slafkovsky goes #1 and then the Habs make a trade to land Kirby Dach!!! Wow. It’s too bad they’ll be saying goodbye to Romanov (and wow I’m glad I didn’t spend for the FWA) but to get good players sometimes you have to make a move.

    WTTF Kirby Dach YG. LOL

I liked Dach, but me prepared for a roller coaster ride with him. After watching him play the last couple of years, one second, you'll be saying "what a great move" and the next you'll be yelling "WHAT THE HECK ARE YOU DOING?????"

After that trade Chicago has 9 picks in the first 3 rounds

All in on a rebuild makes sense to. Would also improve chances of getting Bedard next year.

They have already announced a 5 yr rebuild. With both trades today they have $26.5 mil in cap space. I expect them to pick up a couple of players with bad contracts and get some picks and prospects in return. Rumer is that they are not qualifying Dylan Strome so he will be a UFA

Next bunch of years are going to suck, but then again, we did win three cups in 6 years

From what I've read (and much of it is "instant analysis" type stuff -- it sounds like the Hawks somewhat rushed him into the lineup right out of his draft year, and then came the wrist injury, which are notoriously difficult to overcome (ask J. Drouin). The Habs have done that to a few guys over the years, and yeah it's frustrating to see things unravel. The hope, obviously, is that the wrist heals up and Marty St. Louis can work his Caufield magic to get this kid to his full potential. If they're able to tap into that, look out. He's only 21. Sometimes it can take a player 4-6 years to really hit their full stride, and I think that's what Hughes is banking on here. If it works, he's our 2C in behind Suzuki...and if you've got a 6'4" right shot centre out there, that's hard to come by.

Habs fan and collector! Current PC's: Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, and Lane Hutson...., and of course...

The Vancouver Canucks have drafted Elias Pettersson. This is not a tweet from 2017.

Jets roll the dice with Brad Lambert. May as well take a chance at #30th pick. Could be a great pick. I like Russian center Zhilkin in the 3rd round also.
