Ovechkin keeps piling up those empty net goals
shouldnt take him too long to catch gretzky as long as there is no goalie in net.
last 4 goals are empty netters
while they all count and they do add up
i think he is 2 or 3 empty netters behind gretzky.
i remember a few talking heads commenting on all of gretzkys empty netters and how tainted his numbers were because of that.
they arent talking about it much anymore.
not a gretzky fan, but i think ovechkin has the size and strength to have been much more of a player than a one timer from the left circle.
i think he could of dominated physically a real power player
sure he has scored nice goals but most of them are exactly the same goal.
of course if he had played that way then maybe he would of gotten injured more often
he will catch gretzky not next year but the one following it.
funny but nobody mentions gretzky's Russian heritage
just my 3 cents

If people are going to complain about OV getting empty net goals they also need to complain about the absolutely awful goalies Gretzky faced for most of his career. Half of those dudes probably wouldn't make beer league teams now.

lol, yea. Last year i was watching old Gretzky goal highlights. It's amazing how many times he would cherry pick at the side of the net with nobody covering himLast edited by cjb; 12-14-2022 at 03:02 AM.

Hat trick to score its 800th goal. History is being written. Go Ovi!
