Looks like they literally did quit. LOL. They gave it to OKC -- which is cool for my Thunder...but wow. The tank was so obvious (sitting their best players in the last game) they're being investigated for it by the NBA:

If I was Luka I would bolt from the Mavericks and go to Denver the first chance I can get. Aren't him and Joker from the same country? They'd get along great IMO and they would be a dominant force in the West for awhile since the Lakers/Clippers/Warriors/Suns are all seeing their window close. In a couple years they will be toast. Plus who is really scared of the young teams like the Wolves, Kings, and Memphis? Can anybody see them dominating the West in the coming years? Not really because they don't have the talent but more because those teams have been historically bad forever it seems.

Doncic is from Slovenia, while Jokic is from Serbia, same country as Vlade Divac and the tennis player Novak Djokovic.

Well the playoffs are now set! Despite OKC's big loss to the Wolves in last night's play-in, I'm VERY excited about their future. They over-achieved this season, and their two big weaknesses -- rim protection and consistent outside shooting from the starting five -- will be addressed when Chet returns next season. Sky's the limit for this young squad!

Meanwhile, Kevin Love and the Heat managed to make the playoffs after all. Love got more time in the second play-in game than the first, but appeared to have sustained a concussion. I wonder how much of a factor he'll be for the Heat. I read a recent article where his goal is to play 20 seasons. He needs to get his shot back if that's to happen.

I'll also be following the Cavs/Knicks series and the Clippers/Suns series a fair bit. I still like Cleveland's team -- Darius Garland's dad played college basketball in my MO city, and Darius played college near where I grew up in TN; I also really like Jarrett Allen (he's like a dude version of me, very nerdy, lol) and Evan Mobley. And of course I'll follow the Clippers because it looks like this is the best fit for Westbrook since his time at OKC -- plus he's facing Durant, lol.

As for Finals predictions, all I am confident in is we'll likely see a Celtics/Bucks ECF. Out West...honestly have no idea still. I will say that if Jokic wins MVP yet again (I'm thinking it goes instead to Embiid this time, but anyway), he really needs to take them to the NBA Finals for once. This is the likeliest time Denver will probably ever make it in his career.

WilyWestbrook… I agree that this is Denver’s best chance to make the finals, no dominant team in the west this year and Denver is fully healthy for once. Playoffs should be good!

Yeah, it was a crazy day of ball yesterday!

Thrilled with the big play from my guys Westbrook and Love, though! Vets tend to come through in the playoffs, and they certainly did for their teams. Westbrook may have shot horribly, but he was a monster on the boards, and hustled defensively, getting the big block on Booker in the clutch, among other steals and blocks. He and the Clips outdid his old teammate Durant and the Suns.

Meanwhile Love was a big factor for the Heat in their W, inadvertently injuring Giannis on an attempted charge take, and hitting a bunch of shots in the 3rd quarter to put them up big. He provided the things his old team, the Cavs, lacked in their loss the other night to the Knicks -- rebounding and shooting off the bench. I thought he was looking cooked lately, but maybe he has enough left in the tank and made the right decision to agree to the buyout after all. A lot of Cavs fans are questioning JBB for sitting Love back when he was still a Cav in favor of young guys who haven't proven any scoring or rebounding in big games. One thing I should have realized, is that vets almost always do better in the playoffs than young guys, so the Cavs wanting to go young everywhere probably wasn't the best plan for this playoff run.

Looking forward to see how the rest of these series play out. Very fun night for me as a fan last night though for sure!

Dubs look done. I remember thinking their title last season was definitely their last; even that one was a chore to pull out, and I was surprised they did it. But they look definitely done now. Kings appear to be the real deal. I guess I'll have to watch more of them to see how much they've improved, though I have so many teams to keep track of now lol. If I don't catch a first round game with them and the Dubs, I'll try to at least catch some semfinal action, which they're likely to advance to at this point.

Welp, Kevin Love and the Heat are up 2-1 against the Bucks while the Cavs are down 1-2 against the Knicks. Cavs had a brutal shooting showing and weak paint defense vs. New York last night, scoring just 79 points, while the Heat are taking advantage of a Bucks team without Giannis, winning again tonight, though it looks like Victor Oladipo's injury woes continue as he had a bad plant on his left knee late in the game that took him out.

In other NBA news, Philly swept, while Phoenix took a 3-1 lead against the depleted Clippers.

I really like what Durant said about Westbrook though:

    https://clutchpoints.com/suns-news-k...in-vs-clippers

It's cool to see how well Durant and Westbrook have handled the media this series. Looks like both have put the stuff from 6-7 years ago behind them and don't have to say nasty things about each other just to get sound bites.
