    2023 Tim Hortons Legends

I have been checking out the posts in the trade, buy/sell and break sections since the Legends from Tims came out on Monday and it appears that there is not that many people breaking this set. Maybe it is still to early to for posts. I would be interested in what people think of the set.

i got your email sorry i didnt respond but can you send me a link to both your baseball and hockey traders?

I love the set think they look awesome and great player selection. That being said, I found a lot of people didnt do team canada last year in my area and maybe two tims sets a year is a little over kill?

I like the set. Bought a box. Got 2 full base sets from it. I think they could have picked some players over others in the set. The legends canvas were well made, and probably my fav insert set out of the release.
I have a buddy who usually puts the sets together, and he didn't want to do this one. I have seen very little breaks so far. Maybe cause the release is so close to the expo?

I've opened up a few packs so far, about 15 total. Decent stuff, and I've been lucky in hitting some of the Habs content. I don't intend to build this set so everything I've got that's not in a Canadiens jersey is available. @jim bradt if you are set building drop me a line and I'll let you know what I have. Happy to work out something with you as always.

It does seem to be less interest in the Legends set, as well the print run is down with only about 1/2 the pack count of the regular 2022/23 Tim Hortons set. Part of that could be the build of the Legends set by design having no current players, or the lack of certain alumni players that would make it a true 'Legends' set.

That said, I'm enjoying it and thinking I will attempt the set after 37 packs, or at the very least go after the different Leafs in the set as well as the Manon Rheaume cards.

I think that this set was rushed with the lack of autos involved and may of been a fall back and filler set with the blowback on Team Canada this year. As I speculated before, this may of resulted in less time to secure some bigger name players missing from the set.

Additionally, It also looks like every other Tim Hortons set to come out since they started their license, it may be time to do something different. This set may of been the right time to do something similar to the McDonald's Retro card set from 1999-00(An all time favourite), or the late 90's Ice acetate cards, or maybe do something different and do a set like 2012-13 Fleer Retro or UD/Fleer Retro and do the base set and then the subsets based on UD/Fleer/O-Pee-Chee sets that UD has the intellectual property for.

I bought about 15-20 packs, they are still sealed. I'll open them on a rainy day. I don't plan on doing the set, but the packs are cheap, and I hope to trade some of the cards for Habs cards. It would be awesome to pull the Carbonneau Legendary Celebrations, it's the top card that got my attention in the product.
