When you posted this I just had to go take another look. Seems the $2.99/$1.50 price tag is for the good people of Newfoundland and Labrador.

That is super-lame! Sorry to see that Mike, you guys deserve better!
Cracked open a box this morning, was pretty fun to do on a Monday morning with Mrs. RGM81. Got a full set & a few extra hits. Check out the S&T and the Traders areas. :)

Definitely super-lame, lol. I think a company like Tim Hortons should have the same price for the whole country, it's not really fair to you guys. I live in an area more remote than the location in your post and the price is normal here.

Yeah, I loved the part where Tim Hortons gives a statement where they basically shrugged their shoulders saying inflation happens, and then won't acknowledge or answer why the rest of the SAME country is at a different price. I'm guessing RBI is using Newfoundland and Labrador as a test market to gauge the reaction to the higher price for cards for the possibility of a price increase next year. If the sales drop off significantly they only ticked off an outlying market, if there isn't a big drop off they can make 8 to 16 million dollars raising the price on Bedard's first full year. (They're just going to raise the prices for everybody next year.)

So Tim Hortons has begun to respond to inquiries into the NL Price increase with the truth rather than their earlier attempts of saying it was the "prices vary across the country" excuse. They have confirmed that Newfoundland and Labrador is the test market for a price increase for the cards to potentially go ahead for next year. I have included one message shared on FB in one of the groups, I deleted the person's name.

While Tim Hortons is getting a lot of feedback from people in Newfoundland and Labrador(Natch), If you want to tell them how you feel about the price increase possibility.
and add your feedback it can be done by submitting through their webpage at this link:

Considering I have to remind them almost every time to scan the card so the first pack is only $1 who would even notice really.

You’re really not going to be happy once they start forgetting and charging you $3.00 per pack instead of &1.50. How many people are going to buy extra packs at $3.00.
Funny thing was I could of had a couple of boxes the other day for $175.00 each, already on the Island, no shipping. The markup on the boxes must be pretty good for sales in store if boxes on the secondary market here in Newfoundland and Labrador can be had for less than retail prices across most of Canada.
