Wondering if I'm the only 1 experiencing this kind of issue on eBay...
So, idk if it's because it is/was the Summer, but I have noticed something kind of "weird" onto eBay lately... Regarding auctions with the best offer option enabled, when I send very good offers to some sellers, even if it's only like five bucks under the seller's asking price (for instance just made a $42 on a $49 card yesterday), well they don't even bother answering (whether it's declining, accepting or making a counteroffer).
And they don't seem to be newbies on eBay either (are they on vacation or something? idk). At least, do something.. give the buyer a sign... Why do they just let an offer expire on its own?! I mean, I'd get it if I had sent an "insulting" low-ball offer, but it's never the case. I try not to low-ball at all, I don't wanna waste anybody's time after all... And I wasn't going through some similar problems in the last few years, no it only seems to be a new "trend" that started like a couple of weeks/months ago.
So I was wondering, am I the only one experiencing this? Or are there other collectors out there (on here) who are going through some similar bad experiences right now? Thanks in advance for your replies btw, and thx too for having read me...Much appreciated!!!

For those who allow best offers within their listings, I expect them to at least make me a counteroffer in return (if the first number I have entered is reasonable); I really hate that when they just completely ignore me.
Maybe it's me too, I mean, maybe it's me who's expecting too much out of this... But imo, if you put something on eBay in B.O., you have to respond to the offers you get. Otherwise, well just remove the B.O. option from your listing. 'Cause to me it looks like if you don't really wanna sell your stuff. And I see this a lil' bit like a waste of time too, for the sellers, as well as for the potential buyers.
I've got to say though, I think that the time allowed to respond to an offer we receive on eBay, has lately been reduced to 24 hours.. It used to be 48 not so long ago. I guess that this can trick some people. Some might think they've got plenty of time to answer, when actually they only have one day to do so. Other than that, I don't see why sellers don't reply at all.
One thing's sure though, idk for you guys, but for me anyway, when this kind of things happen, it doesn't make me wanna go back to those same eBay stores. When this happens, I try to purchase the items I wanted, from other eBay sellers. Some who will be, hopefully, more "respectful" the next time... Please feel free to comment. Thanks!

I have not had this issue. The only issues I have had are the following:
1) I send in a best offer and I get the automatic response (it not within their range) so the offer was mute LOL. At least you know and do not have to wait for a response.
2) A seller had a nice card listed for like 59.99 or something. I figured if I could get it for free shipping basically like 5 to 6 bucks off I would send an offer. Not like I was lowballing as I sent the offer for around 53 or 54 cannot remember. The seller came back with a counter of like a $1 or $2 lore. I never even bothered responding to the offer as you wanted a offer I gave a fair one in my mind. I wasn't lowballing like half etc which I know happens a lot. Was not a new card or a hot item but a older vintage card. No skin off my back but if I make a strong offer I expect a yeah or nay not a counteroffer LOL.
I would just avoid them in the future and find folks or entities you enjoy buying from.

One of the offers I have experienced of more lately is many buyers who do not pay. As I seen the same card listed and then the next week the card is up from the same seller a 1 of 1 card. I lost this card here.

Why not offer me a 2nd bidder offer and keep some money as I lost the first offer by a few dollars. I won it later and saved a ton.

I have noticed that in my experience most seller's don't give 2nd chance offers much anymore.
I remember getting some 2nd chance offers years ago, but it has been so long since I have had one.

So many are waiting for better offers as I see cards listed with crazy prices on them all the time. I love dealing with those ultra rich collectors who are have posted on forums before and said I will burn the cards before I move it much less than my posted price LOL. If it a hot or new card I can understand but on older stuff just do not seeing it happening too often especially if the offer is close to what you have posted for BIN.
