I wonder if LeBron might finally be done for good. He got to play with his son. He's 40. What else does he really need to do on the court? I know he evaded the retirement question last year as well, but I figured he'd come back just to play a season with his son, so I wasn't surprised that he played again. Now that he got to do that, I wonder what else could be on the list that makes the grind at his age worth it. Does he really want to wait around for the Lakers to build a contender around Luka and him? At 40? I would totally understand it if he wanted to call it a career. But James also loves the limelight, so he might still drag it out. I honestly wish he would just call it a career at this point. It's harder to play basketball well into the 40s. I just looked it up and only 32 players have only made it, and Kareem, Stockton, and Malone were the only ones older than James is now who managed to put up even double digit PPG, and all of them barely so. James ending on a 24 PPG season with his son would not be the worst way to end his career, even if the first round exit obviously wasn't ideal.

Tough loss to open the series for the Cavs on their home floor. When I saw Garland wouldn't be able to play, I definitely got nervous. Indiana actually matches up with them very well and gave them fits in the regular season. The loss of Garland especially hurt late in the 4th when they lost their lead. Garland has been their clutch time shooter all year and the offense looked disjointed without him. I also still have concerns about their defense; Indiana got a lot of great looks. The Cavs should still win this series, but it could easily go 6 or 7. They definitely cannot afford to lose Garland for any further games; he will just have to keep playing through that toe injury.

Oh yikes, just read that De'Andre Hunter dislocated his finger and Evan Mobley tweaked his ankle in the game yesterday. On top of that, Garland is still not fully healed. The Cavs are now definitely in greater jeopardy of not advancing past the Semis, which means for all their regular season and offensive improvement, their playoffs could very well not be any better this year than last. Well that really sucks. I hope OKC can at least deal with the Nuggets or else this postseason will be a massive disappointment for me after how well my Cavs and Thunder looked in the regular season.

I hope you're right. It would be shocking if all three lost the series; hopefully at least one of them rebounds. I'm most nervous about the Cavaliers because they have some significant injuries to battle through, and Indiana has caused them trouble all year. Boston should bounce back from their poor shooting, and Oklahoma City should bounce back from poor strategizing on Coach Daigneault's part. At least I hope so. What the games ones remind me as a fan is that nothing is guaranteed no matter how much of an advantage a team seems to have. And that's the excitement of the playoffs.

The Cavs choking was bailed out by the disaster that was the Celtics and Thunder losing.
Like you said the Cavs are probably the most in trouble because of the injuries but I could also see the Celtics having problems with the Knicks. They seem to be a poor match up for them. The Thunder should still be able to put away the Nuggets but if they continue to struggle then basically any team has a chance to win this thing since the Thunder were the clear favorites who dominated the regular season.

Yeah I wasn't hitting the panic button after one game and they should still be able to win this series but they are making it harder on themselves and they are digging a hole for later series/NBA Finals that might be the final nail in the coffin for somebody to win a championship coming out of the east. The West teams just look stronger at this point and I don't think anything is going to change that.
