I have a very sad news to share w/ the other members, particularly w/ the ones in the hockey section

I wanted to do this long ago, but I had some personal issues to deal with.. Anyway, what I wanted to share with you guys is the fact that we recently lost a highly regarded SCF member, who was part of this community for a very long time! Indeed, unfortunately Mike33 passed away this past March. He had dealt with a few health issues within the last few years. I wanted to let you know this guys, 'cause I think many among you have had the chance to trade with him over the years. Including myself, on and off the forum, I've dealt many times with him; he helped me out a little bit with my pc of Roy, and a LOT with my Bobrovsky collection...

In my opinion, he was always fair with me (and with everyone else I would say). A real good trader, and even more a great human being!!! It makes me realize that there's more important things in life than hockey cards. Life is fragile, it hangs by a thread! I'll try to remember this when I'll be disappointed & "frustrated" not to receive (enough) replies for some of my threads... Most of the time our problems are smaller than we think. But when we are living something, we don't always realize that. Anyway, one thing is sure, he will be greatly missed !!!

R.I.P. Michel ! Thank you for all the chats and for all the trades we've had together. If some members wanna add/say something, or share some things regarding Mike, well of course you're more than welcome to do so, within this thread. It's also one of the reasons why I've started it. Obviously, I didn't want to only tell you guys this very sad news, but I too wanted to pay tribute to him..! Thanks to all of you for the read.

I talk to a few guys and gals of SCF quite often, and we often talk about how short life is. I tell any staff member who brings up issues that, if they have things going on in their lives to take care of, they should take care of those first, as the site will always be here. This site is a second family, where some of the guys or gals might become friends or acquaintances for life. This site is mostly guys and gals in their 40s, and up there will be a lot of folks passing as the site has been around for 20-plus years. I send many PMs to folks when I see they're not active. Some come back with a reply saying they were in the hospital for this, or sometimes with a message that the member has passed. As you said, remember not to get upset if you don't get many replies. Mike was only on the site for six years and did not have many posts, but he did have quite a few trades. Averaging over 20 trades on the site during his tenure on SCF. As I pointed out many times, when we lose members like that, it truly takes a chunk out of the activity that most folks only see when they complain about how hard it is to make trades. We never take the time to think about why the trades are down, along with the postal rate increase, etc. Thanks for sharing, as many trade partners will miss Mike33 for sure.

Sure you resolved it without a hitch. It happens from time to time.
