Carey Price inducted to the Hockey Hall of Fame!!!!
https://montrealgazette.com/sports/h...-hall-of-fame/
Former Canadiens goaltender Carey Price has been elected to the Hockey Hall of Fame.
The hockey shrine unveiled its 2026 class on Monday. Price was named alongside L’Ancienne-Lorette, QC native Patrice Bergeron, Pekka Rinne, Keith Tkachuk, Brian Burke and Cindy Curley.
Price, a native of Anahim Lake, B.C., played his entire career in Montreal. After being selected fifth overall in the 2005 NHL Draft, the netminder joined the club during the 2007-08 season.
He played 712 regular-season games and had a record of 361-261-79 with 49 shutouts to go along with a 2.51 goals-against average and a .917 save percentage. He played another 92 games in the playoffs. A knee injury ended his playing career in 2022.
His best season came in 2014-15, when he won the Hart Trophy as the league’s most valuable player, as well as the Vézina Trophy, Ted Lindsay Award, William M. Jennings Trophy and Northern Star Award (then called the Lou Marsh Trophy) as Canada’s best athlete. In 2022, he won the Bill Masterton Trophy, given to the player who best exemplifies the qualities of perseverance.
During the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia, Price backstopped Canada to a gold medal. He was named the tournament’s top goalie, with a 5-0 record, a 0.59 GAA and a .972 save percentage.
I am beyond thrilled.
Habs fan and collector! Current PC's: Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, and Lane Hutson...., and of course...

"A record of 361-261-79 with 49 shutouts"
He has a number of other goalies ahead of him with more NHL wins, but that is still a very impressive record.Jesus Said:
"Come Unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

I'm thrilled too.. It's well-deserved !!! I think he did great with an ordinary team in front of him, for the most part of his career.

I Think this is absurd considering the amount of players, much better players with much better records are still waiting. Seems like they rushed Price in for.. what reason? I think it's absurd. Sure, he set an NHL record in 2015 with 4 trophy wins... and that's literally 80% of his total trophy wins. So is he in the Hall of Fame so quickly because of 1 good season? Nonsense.

@Cunnuc it's the Hockey Hall of Fame, not the NHL Hall of Fame. Take a look at his international numbers playing for Canada, combined with his stature in the NHL and it's pretty much a no-brainer.

I understand all the other stuff he won not in the NHL. But I don't consider those wins or gold or whatever to be that important. I mean 4 Nations had 4 teams. World Juniors and Olympics don't have many more teams! NHL has 30+ in his tenure in NHL. So much harder to win one of those is all I'm saying. Then again I didn't realize Hockey hall of Fame and NHL Hockey Hall of Fame were different entities.
I just feel like it was rushed is all. Suppose I am wrong though because the years just fly be for me it seems lol. I lose track of time, even what year it is!

I guess it's to Carey's benefit that his peers are on the induction committee and not you. LOL

I think that all of the names of this years inductees are very surprising.
By the way, how many of you and people you know of are really excited about these yearly inductions? Does people really bother?

Personally I love Carey Price being in the HOF, to me he was the last great Canadian Goaltender, he is in the Triple Goal Club, won the Vézina and Hart in the same year, and went to the Stanley Cup Finals.
As for should other players have come first, that is complicated because everyone has a different opinion of who should be in the Hall. But Price definitely deserves the spot.I collect Brodeur for my PC

I don't think Bergeron is surprising, if being a complete player and 6 time Selke award winner matters.
