07-08 Topps Hobby break TADA!

Well, I did this earlier today at my local "small" store. I paid 61 for this box fresh from a case (lower left FTW!) So here's the breakdown!

-1 complete set of base, 1-135
-1 complete set of 57-58 retros, various; 50 total
-~75% of a second set (dupes of oden, durant, shaq, lebron)
-dupes of a few retros, specifically Lebron and Shaq (WOOT! pc + set!)
-4/11 Bill Walton missing years (sequentially no less! 62-65)
-4 Gold cards, Billups, rashard lewis, al jefferson, SHAQ! WOOT!
-1 First day release... Shaun Livingston
-Rookie Auto = Nick Fazekas sn 17/100 (odd that the SN is on the authenticity sticker for these!)
-Vet auto = Charlie Villanueva (pretty nice looking!)
-GU = ONEAL.... Jermaine :icon_evil

Card # RIP-10, #99/99, Bill Walton, Yao Ming, and David Robinson!!!

Since I have a Shaq rip coming through ebay I tore the SOB open immediately because the shop owner didn't know what a rip card was and well... better to show than just tell.

Inside......




ME-IT..... Isiah Thomas Mini.... AUTO! SWEET! Only downfall is the rip cards (I've opened 3 now) have ALL had a touch of glue icky on one of the edges, this one included. Most came off with a light rub from my thumb, but still kinda annoying.

Everything but the Rip, Rip insert, pistons, and Shaq's are for trade.

I like Shaq's, Lebron's, Ben Wallace and I think im going to start a Stuckey/Afflalo collection. No trade to small!

Nice break! Was this just a regular box or a jumbo? Its good to see you can comeplete the set from one box -- I'm planning on ordering one in a few days.

ABSOLUTELY, 5 am is not a good time for me... already answering the work phone, trying to get emails done, still excited over the cards. But yes, Bill Russell.

Yep, this was a regular ol box, not jumbo. A bit pricy, but considering I got to pick my box from the case I felt very safe that I had a shot for the bigger cards.

Great break! 2007/08 Topps looks like one of the best 07/08 products out right now! I might have to buy a box, even though I rarely bust any boxes, or even packs for that matter.

No Idea of the odds, but I've seen two boxes busted now and both had 3 hits (mine, then one with 2 jerseys and one rookie auto).

A rip card is something kinda new that only Topps is doing. In the case of 07-08 Topps, there are 30 different cards all SN to 99. You can collect them as is and they look nice, like the 81 topps trio cards (think Bird's rookie). OR you can tear into the back of the card and get to a hidden insert. Some are auto's, some aren't! I got lucky and pulled an auto.

Yep, it's the retro looking one. I've checked your site a few times and nothing strikes me... I'm finding I'm too picky for most trading so I should just post that paypal is the best to get my cards unless you've got Shaq's or Ben's I don;t have. That said, most of Charlie's auto's go for ~15, so 8 delivered paypal.

Ha, I was wondering about the Russell/Walton thing. I had bought two jumbo boxes and though maybe Russell was in those and Walton was in regular boxes, ha!

Hey, Of the 3 RIP cards you opened, how many autos? I have one with Bird/Mullin/? #'d to 99 and have been hesitant to open it. Does opening it leave the outer card worthless? or is it still in pretty good shape? Dying to know whats in it though, ha!
