91 & 92 Stadium Club Brett Favre Question
I've been researching these BGS and PSA graded cards for sale on eBay and other websites, and I must be missing something.
It seems as if the 92 Stadium Club Favre has a higher value and/or sale price than its rookie counterpart, the 91 Stadium Club Favre rookie... especially on the higher end (PSA 10, BGS 9.5, etc).
Can anyone offer a reason as to why a 2nd year card appears to be more valuable/sought after than a rookie card? My only guess could be 92 was the first year Favre appeared in the Packers jersey.
Thanks!

actually has to do with scarcity....the 92 is from the high number series and is much less "common" than the 91.....very odd, and dont see it often....i personally prefer the "true" rookie card, and more friendly on your pockets!!
was actually just checking out SC favres on the bay.....good luck with the high grades!!

The difference is quantity/scarcity.
In the early 90's Stadium Club had this irritating habit of making two parts to a set. The first part, called Stadium Club 1, was usually a large chunk of the set, say 500 cards, and massively produced resulting in lots of available product. The second part, called Stadium Club 2, would come out about a month later and usually was only 100 or 150 cards of the set and was significantly underproduced.
The less valuable true RC comes from the massively overproduced Stadium Club 1. The more valuable non-RC comes from the underproduced Stadium Club 2 and was produced when very few Favre cards were on the market because everyone assumed he was going to be a bust.

I thought it also had a lot to do with him having a packers uniform on.

thats not exactly true.....2 series sets were popular in the early 90s....and yes, stadium club did have 2 series in the 92 set....however, both series 1 and 2 were basically the same (same "print run"), and that is NOT what we are talking about here.....this is from the HIGH SERIES, which is not series 1 or 2.....i believe 92 and 93 were the only years stadium club did this
dont want anyone to get confused, and your statement

doesn't have much to do with the value.....maybe with the popularity
