Allen and Ginter....
I was at a mini card show kind of thing today, and one guy was selling packs... He had some Allen & Ginters, which I never have done well with, so I figured I would try to change my luck. I bought a pack, and got a Justin Morneau autograph
. I thought it would sell for a lot, and it only books $30.
Long story short, has anyone here ever got something really great from A&G???

In my two years of breaking A&G I have never gotten anything spectacular. Just a bunch of mediocre swatches and a few autos (Russell Martin and Bill Hall). I guess the look of the cards is what turns me on to them. Plus the fact of the other "star" cards you can pull like celebrities, monuments, etc.

I only broke 1 box but was very fortunate. I hit a Misty May Treanor Sp auto and an original buyback of the Mississippi Capital Building

She is actually a volley ball player. Didn't really fit into my collection as you can imagine so I sold it for $125. The other card I got was an original Allen and Ginter buyback card of the Mississippi State Capital Building. It looked similar to the one in the auction below except a different state. I believe it was from 1887?

Wow! That is pretty sweet, if I would have pulled a woman volleyball player I never heard of, I would have been pretty ticked off...but not when I found out it could sell for 125! lol

I've done well. Out of three boxes of 06 I pulled a 1/1 Everett wood mini.
Out of 4 boxes of 07 I pulled an 1888 A&G Original Flags of the States PA, a Frank Thomas Rip with a Jeter EX inside, and a Giles 1/1 Printing Plate.
