Tyrus Thomas Hobby Vaue
Obviously it hasn't been a good season for TT. He was expected to break out this year and there have been plenty of games where he hasn't even gotten off the bench.
But after watching him against Golden State the other night, I think he's still a great investment from a hobby perspective. The guy is a nut job and does a lot of stupid things on the court, but the talent is just undeniable. He's one of the Top 10 or so shotblockers in the league, and his face up offensive game is really coming along. This is the third game I've seen him knock down contested 15 foot jumpers with ease, and this is coming from a guy that would regularly blow freebies from 5 feet in last year.
And he's such a freak physically. Perhaps Top 5 in the league as far as his raw physical attributes.
Chicago is obviously a franchise that has little patience for his antics. The Bulls are obviously going with Noah over TT, and you can bet a trade will happen in the next year or so if he doesn't earn a spot in the rotation.
And dear lord, if he gets traded to an up-tempo team like Phoenix, Golden State, or Memphis...he'll be an 18/10/3 guy the day he gets traded.
And because of his explosiveness and highlight reel ability, the hobby is always going to love him.
A good investment, if you ask me...

I think the hobby has jumped on the Tyrus bandwagon a little soon. I see his cards selling for huge amounts of money, and he has accomplished very little. I don't know if it would be an investment, his cards are already insanely priced. Personally, I don't buy it, or him for that matter. I do agree if he gets traded he will develope and put up solid numbers.
My 2 cents.

Well Im not exactly sure about this? I have several Tyrus Thomas cards one of which being the 06-07 Ud Ultimate Collection Rc Auto BGS 9.5... Ive listed that and the my Tyrus Thomas RCs (nice little collection) on ebay and never even received an offer!! I see alot of his stuff go unsold, cause people are starting to try and get big bucks for it already.
Ive had my eye on him for a while now, and by NO means do I think his cards are selling for alot. I watched a guy list his exquisite rc auto 3-4 times cause No One was bidding on it!

I've noticed the same things, you can get TT cards fairly cheap right now...

Hmm well 'fairly cheap' still doesn't cut it for me, especially when the guy is averaging 5 and 4 on a crappy team. I see the potential, just think at THIS point his cards are still too much. Rudy Gay cards are just starting to get some (well deserved) credit and he is putting up 20 and 6. Why spend the money on Tyrus when Gay's cards can be picked up relatively near the same price. Just my opinions.
