    2008 UD retail blaster boxes / 2008 Topps Jumbo pack

    I bought 3 retail boxes of '08 UD. I have to say it seems to be a great deal. You get 10 packs and you are guaranteed a game used card in every box for $19.99. This is really good for the low $ collector and kids. I also bought a jumbo hobby pack of Topps (pulled a GU) for just about $10 and a hobby pack of UD (pulled an auto). My card shop also gave me a free Topps Trading Card History Pack (cards TCH26 thru TCH30). I also bought one retail rack pack of '08 UD to get the Hot Commodities Arod insert. I think the design of the Topps base cards is neat, but the inserts seem to be the same ole Topps..not a whole lot new to me other than the Campaigne '08 inserts. The Own the Game insert looks like past years Own the Game cards for instance. I do like the Highlights game used card. I'm usually more of a fan of Topps than UD, but I am biased since Arod is a Topps spokesman. I like the Topps base cards as opposed to UD, however, I have to give UD the nod so far on inserts and value. Maybe after I bust a few more Topps packs I might change my mind.

    If I'm not mistaken, I owe ya for a couple Arod Road to 500 cards you sent me for free.

    I'm estimating a total value of about $12-14 for all 7 cards. I'm guessing the Yanks legacy cards will go for anywhere between $1.25 for commons and maybe up to $3 for Dimaggio, Berra???. I'm not sure...I averaged 1:5 packs of retail. Anyway, lmk what other cheap Arods you may have and I'll see if I can't pick out $6 BV and call it even. LMK what you think on the BV's
