Buying Base Cards & Inserts (200+ Players)
Hi there!
Thanks for the interest in my buying prices and guidelines. I am buying 212 players currently. They are below. If you have any questions, please let me know!
Tony
1. E-mail all lists to me at [email protected]
2. The prices below are for commons (base cards) and inserts.
3. I pay using Paypal.
4. I will take duplicates, up to 10 of the same card.
5. No beat up cards, please.
6. The prices are "shipped" prices, I don't normally add extra for shipping but I will split the cost of a bulk priority box if the lot is a large one (1000+ cards).
7. "Vintage" players (i.e. Aaron, Mantle) I'm looking for current issue, oddball, etc., obviously not vintage stuff.
8. Subset and multi-player cards are OK, and all years and uniforms are fine unless stated.
9. No cheap player sets like Nolan Ryan Pacific sets cards. Some player sets OK.
10. Specific list not necessary, just need a list with the # of cards of each player.
*** May match other bulk buyers. I have compared my prices to other bulk buyers and for many players I pay more per card. If I am lower on certain players, it probably has to do with my inventory, supply, and customer demand. I spend approx. $400-$800 monthly at these prices.

So, if I have 1,000 Cal Ripken Jr commons you're only willing to pay me $30? AND I have to ship them to you for free ? WOW
A guy with a 133 total and 100% rating you require to send first ? WOW
I don't know how the bulk player market works but seems to me like you have some pretty harsh requirements.

well in my case, i am trying to get out of football so anything i get works, and i have so much "crap", that getting rid of it in bulk is fine to me
also, starcards seems as if he runs a business, and me working at a sports store that deals with trading cards, i understand his pricing completely, some stuff sells better than others, and depending on the city/state you work also depends on selling.
like my mother says "if you dont have anything nice to say, dont say anything at all"
just my 2 centsLast edited by gladdyontherise; 02-19-2008 at 10:11 AM.

bowler hit it right on the head. each collector or shop owner has different values for different things. I, and probably serving as well, have lots of dealers that sell use bulk lots. a shop in california has no real need for 1000 cards of marvin harrison or hundreds of other players, if they can build a lot and bring in $200-$400 dollars for base, they love it. for serving and myself, we specialize in this and have built up clients over the years so we have decent outlets for it. Plus we buy hundred of players and not just 10-20 of the top stars at pennies each.
yes, $30 for 1000 ripken cards doesn't seem like a lot, but consider what era he played in. If you have 1000 of his 2000 and up cards, yes they are worth more than $30 dlvd, but if you have 1000 of 1987-1994 junk, that's about the going rate. Odds are, 90% of the ripkens in the hypothetical 1000 card ripken lot would be late 80's junk. Heck, I only pay 1˘ on ripken and just purged out 1000 of them at 3˘ to another bulk buyer on a trade site. The thing is, I bundled those up with 2000-3000 other cards that made my lot end up in the $300 range. for me I made a little and freed up some space.
Basically for most sellers of bulk lots, it's about SPACE, not a lot of people want to house upwards of 1000 cards of 200-300 players. That's where we come in.
Serving, sorry to get into your post but couldn't help it. :)

i have players to sell to you ..questions first
just wanted to double check....i have hundreds of the same card of alot of the players you mentioned..you only want 10 of each card which is cool it still may be worth it to me to dump 10 of each just to thin me out a little...
my question is though are alot of the issues are classic,4sport,5sport,all sport ppf, talk n sports, assets, etc (not the standard fleer, skybox, upper deck, topps issues)...
do you want these or not? if so i probably have 300 or so to push
Thanks,
marcus
