    is anyone good with computers? i need document help!

    i just got a study guide for a class, but i cant open it. it comes up as wierd symbols and stuff, does anyone know what to do? i can forward it to you if you think you can help.

    What type is the file.. That would be the first thing to check?? Can you open it in other text programs

    it says its a docx file i tried to open it in word but it wouldnt work

    I think it's because someone is using a more advanced version of Word. I know that most people have 03 Word, but others have 07, so that may be the problem.

    03 should open in 07 and 07 should open in 03. I do it all the time.

    Office 2003 will only open an Office 2007 file if you have downloaded the compatibility pack.

    I didn't think 2007 would open in 2003.. Remember last semester in psychology she said not to send stuff in 2007 because she has 2003 and it won't open..

    Office 2007 will open any Office 2003 file. Office 2003 can open Office 2007 if you use the free download provided by Microsoft. I can find the link to the download if anyone needs it.
